That's the issue, guys like Casey, McHale etc. are much better coaching options than Scott, but if they hire one of the formers, is someone like Bosh going to join the Bulls instead of say Rick Adelman in Houston, or to join Wade in Miami? I absolutely agree that Scott would be a horrible choice, but he still does has some "credit" in terms of head coaching appeal I guess.

 

Because that's basically the scenario the Bulls have put themselves in by firing VDN. It's either boom or bust here.

Bulls are supposedly really high on Thibodeau. Would have interviewed him 2 seasons ago, but the Celtics won the championship. Defensive minded guy who will help Rose's development in that area, though not sure about his play calling. I don't care THAT much who the Bulls hire as long as it's an up-tempo style coach which will help Derrick thrive in that offense and optimize his potential. Being a defensive coach can't hurt either. I like Corbin/Shaw myself, but I dunno if those guys are "NBA experienced" enough, though Gar said he has an open mind to anyone. Collins, Van Gundy (though controlling) Rivers and even Scott (CP3 loves him, said he helped his development when he coached, thats got to count for something) aren't bad options.

I think part of it is that the jobs that he was interested ended up hiring before he could go through the interview process since his team tends to play deeper into the playoffs (Boston). Chicago might have hired him back when they hired Del Negro if they ever really had the opportunity to take care of that.

Something tells me he would stay there until he brings his hometown a championship. If he wins it this year, I think he bolts for New York (since he "did his job" in Cleveland) and helps his favorite childhood team end a 50 year title drought there unless his ego wants to overshadow/overtake MJ for the challenge. (though I don't think his balls are as big as Kobes in that regard) Thats just my opinion though.

nope, thread is gone. Basically my point was LeBron has a few LEGIT options:

• Stay in Cleveland: They've been CLOSE enough to warrant staying
• Nets: No way, they just plain stink
• NY: Real option, with great marketing potential, but not a lot or surrounding talent
• Clippers: They are out for two reasons: Kobe, and dude... it's the Clippers!
• Miami: A real option, but I think they want Bosh to team with DWade... not that LeBron would be a bad second option
• Chicago: Quality supporting players in Rose, Noah, and Dang

 

So, I have his real options down to Cleveland, Chicago, and NY.

 

Staying in Cleveland he can get a 6 year max deal, but only 5 years with Chicago and NY. HOWEVER, he can make up the contract $$$ difference in endorsements in Chicago and NY. So, really, all three are equal money. At that points, it's about the big cities or home town loyalty.

Fact is, NO ONE knows. LeBron might not even know yet.

It's actually because he's not a people person supposedly. There was an article today that compared him with the Hornets' first ever head coach. They said he was a greattttt assistant, but he just wasn't head coaching material for whatever reason.

I don't think we'll hire Cal, but I don't even want it mentioned... I hate Calipari more than any other coach in all of sports (never liked him in the 1st place, but I have a personal issue with him after meeting him in Memphis that made my hatred grow).

If we hired him, I would be happy if he brought World Wide Wes with him too. Then we'll have LeBron, Bosh and Wade all wanting to play for us.

Unless Calipari can recruit (ie pay players to come to his team and leave before the sanctions hit), I really dont see his value.
