I feel like this has probably been posted somewhere, but I haven't seen it. If it has, my bad.     http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html   Not sure how everyone else

But I do have to say, if we do get Bosh and LeBron, Deng is almost dead weight . I'd rather have Hinrich.

Not really, you just play James at the SG position. It isn't like Hinrich is a lights out shooter who really stretches out the floor that would be a perfect fit for those guys.

Yeah, that's true. But getting rid of Deng's contract also means a little more wiggle room for a guy like Ray Allen.

didn't hinrich come off the bench a lot? wouldn't that change those numbers?

He was better last year, when he was a bench player, than he was this year...

Bosh cut off his dreads. Is there any team that we know that has a hair rule?

Contract's aside, Deng is a much better fit than Hinrich if the Bulls land LeBron. The Bulls are going to need some scoring when LeBron isn't on the floor. I'm not so sure Deng is going to start anyways if the Bulls land LeBron and Bosh. The Bulls won't have any issue finding a defensive minded G like Hinrich. He hasn't been the same since he signed his extension.

Problem is you can't ignore the contracts. I want Deng gone. He's terribly overpaid and is of no use if Lebron is acquired.

So, might as well go crazy here, let's assume Lebron and Bosh are coming here. What does that mean? We talking instant championship contender? A year or two to gel? Will we be able to compete with an aging Boston, or Orlando? What about the Suns/Lakers? On paper I think we'd clearly be the best, but you gotta see how they all play together (and where Paul might end up).

And what does this do for Rose's career? Is he going to become overshadowed and lose out on all star selections? Or will this propel him further by taking a lot of the pressure of him to carry the team?

Boston didn't need any time to gel. I don't think I'm exaggerating or going out on a limb at all when I say that team is worth 4-5 championships, minimum. The rest of the NBA would probably be sick of the Bulls.

Sure he has a purpose. You need a quality 6th man that can rebound and score. It'd be nice if he didn't make so much money, but if Deng doesn't stand in the way from signing LeBron and Bosh then he's worth keeping. Not to mention when Deng is on the floor with Rose and LeBron, he runs the floor very well and his mid-range game is money.

I'm not against ridding Deng's contract, I'm just saying that between Hinrich and Deng, the Bulls definitely made the right choice.

I'd rather boot Deng and bring in a couple snipers.

The perfect type of 6th man is Kirk (defense, good combo guard) or Ben (instant offense)...definitely not Deng. In fact, it seems like Gibson will become the 6th man for defensive purposes.

Plus, for his contract it's not a "it'd be nice if he didn't make so much money" as it is a "For that contract, he has to play or be traded" and when trading him clears up room for a Ray Allen type shooter, you do it.

For what its worth, my gut tells me Deng will be in Sacramento for a future pick.

What about James Johnson? Where does he fit in?

He can hold Lebron and Bosh's warm ups

I really wonder if the Bulls can give Deng away. Personally, I'm higher on the guy than most here, and there always has been talk about him playing a little 2 guard. Maybe it happens. If the Bulls do sign James and Bosh, there aren't going to be a whole lot of minutes for everyone else

Deng is going to play. That's not going to be an issue. The Bulls had to trade a 1st rd pick and $3 million just to get rid of Hinrich's much more absorb-able contract. The Bulls can't just drop Deng's contract for a 2nd rd pick. If they could have, I'm sure they would have. It's going to take talent and a lot of cash to get rid of it. The cost of trading Deng would be greater than the cost of keeping him. It's a big contract, but it's really not hindering the Bulls from doing what they want.

Kirk Hinrich has been terrible for 3 years. I would LOVE for the Hinrich of 4 years ago to resurface, but at this point he's defensive specialist, and certainly not a good 6th man. The drop from him to a guy like Chris Duhon is negligible IMO.

Rose Allen? LBJ Bosh Noah......who do you double team? LBJ obviously, but that leaves either the lane for Rose open or Bosh alone down low and your 4th option is a guy who hits 3s. This team instantly give Rose 5-10 more assists per game and a better scoring percentage as he doesn't need to force everything.

I can't even wrap my head around that team to be honest. While the bench would be questionable, that starting 5 would instantly be a top 10 (if not higher) all time.

There are a lot of guys who will look better by proxy just being on that team.

You can sign D League guys for the bench if you have a starting lineup like that.

How much do you think Allen with sign for?

With an almost guaranteed ring, a former coach, I'd say the MLE would be fine with him

Deng is not much better, especially at his contract. Keep in mind, he's getting paid as much, if not more than Andre Iguodala and he's not better than him. He's a vastly overpaid player as a starter. When you're paid that much, you're either an all-star, or you have a huge impact on your team winning games. Deng really is neither. If you put him on the bench, he is Allan Houston bad. Deng should've been traded before Hinrich.

The only thing I think is possible is to pick up 2 or 3 guys added together making similar money to fill out some roster spots. If the Bulls get 2 max guys with LeBron being one, they aren't going to need much else.
