I'll be honest and say that I wasn't terribly upset that KW didn't pay for a bat at the 7/31 deadline. But, if he can get Manny for next to nothing, I'll be more than happy.

Well if NY and Tampa did not file a claim then the only other teams in a worse situation than the Sox are Boston, Minnesota and Texas....not looking good.

yeah, if it's multiple teams I don't see the Sox getting him, a NL team would have had to claim him IMO in that scenario.

Well, for one, the Rangers don't exactly need a DH. The Twins maybe...depends on how comfortable they are with what they have and their revenue situation. The Rays...yeah, I'd still have claimed them if I were them, but they did just add Hawpe.

Multiple teams more than likely means multiple contenders. The plot thickens...

Really...the Sox are the first team with legitimate reason to claim him in the AL...unless a team decided to block him out of spite. We've got the worst record of anyone left in the race.

to me, the only way he got past the NL was if he made it real clear through back channels he only wanted to go to the AL or stronger words that he would only go to the White Sox.
