It is pretty quiet in Chicago media, you would think if we didn't get the claim, somebody would have leaked it by now. We have been the number one topic in the Manny hype for three days. Maybe it's an NL team willing to take away a big bat from a too close for comfort wild card opponent and not even bothering to play him too much.

 

Manny would block the move than under his no trade clause. He'd stay with the Dodgers than for the final stretch. The only way this makes sense is if the team making the claim feels the Dodgers are worse with Manny on the team than if he leaves and goes to the AL.

You're assuming they would get the claim as-is.

you have to think it's a realistic possibility in this case if you're a team claiming him... There's a real chance LAD are completely fed up with him and after a little trade talk they could easily just say "screw it he's yours 4m and all."

no, just means nobodies sources are solid at this point, smart reporters shut up when they don't have solid sources on a subject... same thing could be said about media in every other city, all we've heard is the Rangers got trumped
