April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 12:46 PM) I didn't understand the rationale of giving Butler anything to hit in that situation. You had a lefty on deck and an open base. You're usually not going to put the tying run on base, though the situation really did change when the count went to 3 and 1. Chris got beat by the count, plain and simple.
April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) But instead of discussing this, we should all keep making sarcastic remarks such as: or silly remarks like... QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) I'd be willing to bet that they don't lose as many to them as the Sox do, though.
April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) or silly remarks like... That is based in fact. I'm not completely sure about ture Tigers, but the Twins ALWAYS have a better record against those teams. Silly, my ass.
April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) Read back a page or two, I asked the same question and it was answered. Also: Holliday was cleared yesterday to resume baseball activities after having the procedure on Friday, LaRussa says he could be back this weekend.
April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) Also: Holliday was cleared yesterday to resume baseball activities after having the procedure on Friday, LaRussa says he could be back this weekend. yup, just saw it on a scrawl on MLBN, he was swinging a bat today I believe. Good sign for Adam.
April 6, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Herb Lawrence Dis Kenny Williams is an idiot. How do you get player like Dunn? He knew that he had an appendix which makes it a 100% more likely to have a appendectomy than a free agent that doesn't have one.
April 7, 201114 yr So uh, apparently, Adam is going to try to play tomorrow. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/sport..._medium=twitter
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Sockin @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) So uh, apparently, Adam is going to try to play tomorrow. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/sport..._medium=twitter That's nuts if true. NUTS.
April 7, 201114 yr Best quote from him on the post game story from the Trib: "I'm a quick healer, I'm like Wolverine." Edited April 7, 201114 yr by Sockin
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) That's nuts if true. NUTS. No s***. QUOTE (Sockin @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) Best quote from him on the post game story from the Trib: "I'm a quick healer, I'm like Wolverine." Wolverine or Donkey Kong...which to choose? QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Adam Dunn is going to make it REALLY hard for people to hate him Agreed.
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Adam Dunn is going to make it REALLY hard for people to hate him unfortunately there will always be holdouts due to his high K total.
April 7, 201114 yr How is the procedure done? Laser? small incision? Maybe it isn't that big of a deal?? *shrug* EDIT: ok, so it was a small incision... Dunn underwent a laparoscopic procedure that involves only a small cut, and he believed he wouldn't be in too much danger if he played. "If I can tolerate it, I want to play," Dunn said. I can see why he wants to be in the lineup for the home opener, but "fer pete's sake" you just had one of your internal organs removed. Edited April 7, 201114 yr by Anderson Cooper's Quivering Lip
April 7, 201114 yr PS - If Adam Dunn misses only one game after having one of his internal organs removed, does this make him the ultimate legendary Sox grinder, thus supplanting Sir AAAron Rowand?
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Anderson Cooper's Quivering @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) PS - If Adam Dunn misses only one game after having one of his internal organs removed, does this make him the ultimate legendary Sox grinder, thus supplanting Sir AAAron Rowand? Please, please, please don't call Adam Dunn a grinder. Please.
April 7, 201114 yr I never liked Adam Dunn before. Of course, I never knew much about him other than his production on the field. I'm starting to come around though...
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Please, please, please don't call Adam Dunn a grinder. Please. Antonym of "grinder" = Adam Dunn
April 7, 201114 yr Credit the guy for his loyalty but that's just crazy. At least let the stitches heal for Chrissake. The bats are hot right now and he's a needed piece to this team for the entire year. Rushing Peavy back wasn't a good idea either.
April 7, 201114 yr White Sox are conservative with injured players, with a few exceptions. I doubt he'll play, no matter what he's determined to do.
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 07:15 AM) White Sox are conservative with injured players, with a few exceptions. I doubt he'll play, no matter what he's determined to do. The threat of having Dunn pinch hit could come in to play.
April 7, 201114 yr Cowley's Twitter: Dunn said that he must have been on too much pain medicine yesterday cause no way he could play today. Shooting for tomorrow now. Asked about Holliday and him both having the same problem the first week he said, "maybe it's the radiation from Japan."
April 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) Wow, terrible choice of words, Dunn. Yeah, bad timing at best.
