Who the f*** was the mediocre infielder on the Tigers early 2000s I wanna say that Hawk always said "swung the magic wand" against us?

Jose Macias? Placido Polanco? Omar Infante?

I know Hawk always said that about Freddy Sanchez. We played them like 4-5 years ago and he always raved about his "magic wand". He wasn't really wrong though, that dude had about 6 bloop hits in that series.

YES!

Although, I'm pretty sure Lew Ford hit about .700 against us.

Hawk loves Matsui also

I'd just like to add that Hawk needs to take a break from this topic:

"To all you youngsters out there...you don't have to be a good breaking ball hitter; just cover the fastball"

It's fabulous advice but he's saying it waaaay too often this year. Let's not totally dead-horse that one Hawk.

Hawk loves the kid on the Dodgers that went 4-4 against us that one game. I'm sure it would become a new man-crush if we played them more.

Lew Ford was a raper. Weird that he didn't pan out. Hawk also loves Maicer 'Babe' Izturis.

On the baseball field. Don't mean to imply any Roethlisberger type activity. (Allegedly)

Andy Gonzalez.

I used to want to punch my screen every time Hawk talked about how talented a ballplayer Andy Gonzalez was. I just didn't see it... in fact if I named the 5 worst players I've ever seen he'd be on that list

So who are the players that Hawk seems to have a love for even though they're not exactly all star players? I can think of the following:

- Carlos Gomez (Team Captain)

- Kurt Suzuki

- Randy Ruiz

- Brandon Inge

- Matt Harrison

Arnie Munoz would be on mine.

Most of those guys aren't mediocre, though. They're actually very good.

Sam McDowell, for instance.
