8/1 Yankees @ Sox 7:10

I don't think the plays were as tough as Hawk makes them out to be, but Dunn has been better with the glove than advertised.

Dunn would also be easier to take if he were platooned. I don't know what his BA is against righthanders, but it's got to be close to .250 if he is 3 for 73 against lefties.

I thought Peavy was gonna be so deadly when he came to White Sox cuz he would actually have an offense this time, and not get a no decision for his usual shutout or 1 Er he gave. But man who was I kidding, Sox offense is worse than the Padres

Ozzie preaches fundamentals but his teams are terrible at them.

Camp Cora must really be terrible.

well we just have to agree to disagree

it is pretty obvious that he was never a great pitcher for us even before the injury

There really wasnt a point when he wasnt injured either so...

I don't even know what difference would be brought to the team with a change in coach staff (except for Cooper). The players are at fault more than the coaches IMO.

I don't even care, I'm just tired of looking at the same faces. Let nothing change.

Also Peavy is going to hurt himself with these line drives that are finding their way past him on the mound.

For years, Ozzie has given nothing but lip service. It is almost as though he does the exact opposite of whatever he says. Take for example his "benching" of players like Pierre and Rios. I think he may have benched Pierre for a game or two, and then he apparently earned his way back into starting and was still as bad. With Rios, he benched him for a single game and he's back to starting everyday since then.

Well, the pads don't exactly have a lot themselves.

How many swinging strikes has Peavy had against him? They're not fooled by anything he's throwing

Peavy is right about the 75 pitch mark..............lord help Sox!

Prior to Peavy joining the White Sox, he was probably the best strikeout pitcher in the league, yea maybe Santana will make a case. With the Sox, I think he only twice or so had more Ks in innings pitched in a start. (One being the relief game today, and a game vs KC last yr where he had 9Ks in 7)

i think we are gonna witness the brian bruney experience tonight

I would say I hope Kenny gets nervous and fires Ozzie to try and save this season (and maybe his job) sometime in the near future, but who knows if he's even allowed to fire Ozzie.

I have to say that I'd be shocked if both of them came back next year. I'm not privy to any inside information, but it sure seems like Ozzie is just as powerful as KW. I wouldn't want to work as a GM like that either.

Another pitch right down the middle called a ball

I was thinking the opposite, as Petco is just a pitcher's heaven and the AL adjustment seemed like it would be hard for Peavy.

You're not lying. The green dots are balls.

I agree, but I think Peavy's issues have nothing to do with the ballpark or even league adjustment. His stuff just isn't anywhere close to what it was during his San Diego days.

Well I don't think the Petco arguement has much validity to it in the Peavy case. Petco Park is huge park that swallows a few Hr, agree. Well we all know too that the Cell is a HR bandbox. But Peavy does not allow a whole lot of HR. If I am correct, his Hr rate this season would be amongst his career low, astonishing I know. You gotta keep in mind Petco Parks may swallow Hr but it doesn't swallow strikeouts, which Peavy was the best in his league hands down.

I had recorded the game from the 3rd inning on and went to a minor league rookie league game. Now those guys know how to play baseball. I deleted the Sox game when I got home.
