I'll give you "being healthy" is an important piece, but without Hamilton being at least a threat on the court the series is going to go the exact same way it did last year. Against the Heat you basically lose Boozer for the entire series, so you need someone else to step up on the offensive end.

I really think that if Noah can avoid injury and maintain this level of play, the field has already been leveled. His consistency is a huge issue, though.

Noah being healthy is obviously better than him not being healthy. But he's still Joakim Noah. He's a valuable player with limitations. Against Miami, they're going to have to score the ball. Rose and a healthy Noah is not enough. Two of Deng, Hamilton and *gulp* Boozer are going to have to step up consistently if they're going to have any chance against Miami's defense.

I was actually going to post the stats from every single game he's played vs the Lakers in the playoffs knowing you'd respond with EXACTLY this but I was too lazy.

 

Hint, his numbers aren't nearly as bad as you make it seem. He's played them in 3 series and he was pretty dominant in one. The fact that the Jazz lost all three series isn't entirely on Boozer. Pretty sure he averaged a double-double in all 3.

Agree that it's going to be difficult, but I'm looking at this from Golden State's perspective here. As currently constructed, that team is going nowhere. Dumping Ellis's contract and bringing in an expiring deal in Kaman gives them lots of options cap - wise for the off-season (with Kwame Brown's 6.75M coming off the books also). Javale McGee is a young big they've been linked with, and trading Ellis opens up the SG spot for Klay Thompson who's actually looked pretty good when he's gotten on the floor. They could end up with Brook Lopez if Dwight bolts to the Nets in this scenario also potentially?

 

New Orleans basically wants a draft pick for Kaman from what I've read.

 

But also, the odds of Dwight not opting out have actually increased since the ASB, and that's mainly down to Deron Williams saying he's more likely than not going to Dallas now (and Dwight's camp not being very happy at all with that).
