April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) The hatred in this thread is incredible! Not as incredible as your avatar
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Not as incredible as your avatar Thanks! Giancarlo plays baseball the way i play MLB: The Show, first pitch swinging every single time.
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) Nopening night? I appreciate this, good day to you.
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) Opening night no-hitter? Nopening night? Same manager. Different team. Same anemic offense.
April 5, 201214 yr You can cancel the postgame show. I really wanted to see the Marlins get no hit, it'd be a nice bomb on their little hype party. Edited April 5, 201214 yr by chw42
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) Same manager. Different team. Same anemic offense. On some clear and especially windy days Greg Walker's influence can be felt anywhere in neighboring states that there is baseball being played.
April 5, 201214 yr STATS LLC@STATS_MLB Last home team shut out to open new park - 1991 White Sox in 16-0 loss to Tigers at Comiskey. ChiSox starting SS that day: #OzzieGuillen.
April 5, 201214 yr They're going to end up moving that CF fence in from 418 to closer to 400. They did the same thing at CitiField, I think. Stanton's already lost one homer tonight, and hit another to deep center. This game might have been interesting had the ageless Omar Infante stayed on the bag and tagged out Berkman at 2B when he was trying to stretch it to a double. Freese continuing his clutch, 2-out RBI string from last year's postseason.
April 5, 201214 yr great game by Lohse. made us look like a team of adam dunn's except for the two base-hits Edited April 5, 201214 yr by flippedoutpunk
April 5, 201214 yr Not too impressed with this park. I hope the other Florida team gets to move into that proposed sail concept stadium that has been floating around for a few years now.
April 5, 201214 yr OZZIE HAS THE WORST RECORD IN BASEBALL. And tomorrow will be the first time ever rooting against Mark Buehrle...how sad.
April 5, 201214 yr What a glorious day in baseball. It's going to be weird cheering for the Cubs, but I'm going to be doing it 6 times this year.
April 5, 201214 yr The problem will be determining over the next couple of years how much of the difference is Ozzie simply has a much better Marlins team talent-wise, and it's more suited to his managerial style and strategic thinking. Did Ozzie simply get a little flat/stale/complacent, or he just gave up because of the constant bickering and differences over the roster with KW? In modern baseball, 8 years is a pretty long tenure for a manager. The odds of him lasting that long when he was hired would have been about 1/25 or 1/50 in Vegas.

You'd root for the Cubs over a guy who managed the Sox to the only WS title in your lifetime?? Nonsequitir of the highest degree.
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 04:31 AM) OZZIE HAS THE WORST RECORD IN BASEBALL. And tomorrow will be the first time ever rooting against Mark Buehrle...how sad. Wby would you root against the best starting pitcher in the modern era in White Sox history? I root madly for Mark to win, win win.
April 5, 201214 yr QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) Not too impressed with this park. I hope the other Florida team gets to move into that proposed sail concept stadium that has been floating around for a few years now. I'm always sad that wasn't built. That would have been gorgeous. Marlins could have done great. The base part of the Stadium is great. Then you get the HR feature, the nightclub, the lime green walls, the orange bowl memorial.
April 5, 201214 yr Man I love the ol' hometown fans. Cant wait to catch some games here in the Air conditioning. No more having to change sweaty undergarments during the 7th inning stretch.
April 5, 201214 yr Does anyone have a picture of the Brazilian style dancers/cheerleaders? Curious how over-the-top their outfits were, just for the sake of baseball marketing insight, haha.
