That right there is the kiss of death for the Sox. The Twins and Royals will be playing minor leaguers to see what they have.

 

The Royals are mostly young guys, the only position player that would be different from the current roster is probably Will Myers hitting for Franceur which is probably an upgrade. Pitching wise, young guys or veterans it can't really get worse than the starters they trot out there now. The Twins just suck so much it doesn't really matter what they do with their roster at the end of the season.

Royals sort of helped us out in 05 when they beat the Indian the last week before we swept them. Still remember Grady dropping that fly in the sun.

Meh, I get his point, but it's not like Robin is a gimmicky type manager, his poise has been outstanding this season and I am not worried at all about the pressure getting to him down the stretch.

 

Of course he'll make mistakes, but every manager, yes including steady Leyland, will make mistakes.

In Darvish’s last eight starts, he has held right-handed hitters to a .136 average in 81 at-bats.

 

Matchup of note: A walk is likely when designated hitter Adam Dunn faces Darvish. Dunn has taken an American League-high 75 walks. Darvish has given up 11 walks in his last 151/3 innings and is third in the league for walks allowed with 61.

 

Chicago White Sox starter: LHP Chris Sale (11-3, 2.37) had a personal eight-game winning streak end Saturday when he gave up five runs in seven innings during a loss at Detroit. Sale has three “out” pitches: fastball, slider and change-up. He ranks second in the AL for ERA and third in opponents batting average at .211.

Last night they said it was a sprained wrist and that he would miss at least one start, but it wasn't serious. Judging from that, I'd assume he is out today, and 50/50 to come back tomorrow.

It was good the first couple times he said it. It really fit the moment. But I'm sick of it by now.....do we now have to hear that crap after every home run? It makes me cringe and curse like whenever I hear the "don't stop now boys" bs. Anytime I could hear the other teams announcers is becoming a blessing. I used to love Hawk too, he needs to go away

That's really bad news. We can't afford a lineup with Tyler Flowers/GordonBeckham/Jordan Danks all batting in order. That's 3 automatic outs in a row.
