Uh oh...might have to face a Hall of Famer.

Nice looking lefty reliever....good stuff.

Multiview...bad

Alex!

Why would you even throw something outside to Rios right now? He's as locked in as you can get.

Robin must be sensing a 15-inning game leaving Dunn in to run.

Weird.

Viciedo seems to anxious to go out and get the pitch, lunging out a lot.

Good observation, and it's leading to him jamming himself a lot.

He's been doing this all season.

Also leads to him pulling his head a bit. Not a good combo.

First base depth is kind of an issue right now. Lilli? You'll want him to play LF late in the game.

Flowers?

Maybe he needs that medicine ball drill they used with Dunn.

He looks like he's pressing too, trying to do too much. It's not surprising given his situation. He needs to relax. He'll be fine.

It's so weird and satisfying to see the Jake Peavy I thought we were getting a long time ago.

Peavy rolling.

Two hard hit balls this inning, I hope he has enough in the tank to close this out.

I don't think Lillibridge is much better of an OF than Viciedo... if not now I think as he gets more and more time out there it will be very apparent.

It'd be great to see Jake finish this baby off with no damage, Verlander style.

He shot one to right field nicely in his first at bat, as he had better balance at the plate. The best thing that could happen for Viciedo is to hit a homer to right field. Maybe he changed his mechanics a little after hitting two homers during the early part of the season to left center?

Do you bring JFP out for the 9th? Or hand the ball to Santiago? I know what Peavy wants. Does Robin give it to him?

.367 for Rios.

What Farmer said was that KW loved the aggressive and way the ball jumped off Viciedo's bat, but he's lost some of that aggressive because of 1) the steady diet of offspeed/breaking pitches and 2) the encouragement to be more patient and take more walks.

So he's lost some of his initial aggressiveness you saw in 2010 with the Sox and become a bit more tentative instead of instinctual, which is causing him to be inbetween a lot (see Morel and Beckham) and seem like he has more of a slider-speed bat. Before, he always locked onto the fastball and was ready to swing whenever he came up to the plate. As Hawk's always saying, you have to have a plan up there...eliminate one of the pitcher's best pitches and make him beat you with his 2nd or 3rd pitch if he can do it, you tip your cap.

I probably wouldn't, but I'm a s***ty manager.

You should want Lillibridge charging hard at borderline gappers over Viciedo.

I'd bring Peavy out.
