June 24, 201213 yr Looks like it was just all positioning the past two days, once the smoke clears well see who held out longer us or them: Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com tweets the White Sox appear to be the most likely destination for Youkilis and, as of yesterday, the two teams were haggling over money. Knobler adds in a separate tweet that Youkilis is not headed to the Dodgers.
June 24, 201213 yr I'm not sure how anyone could hate this move. Boston will likely pay most of his remaining salary. Stewart is nothing more than a AAAA pitcher. If Youkilis comes here and hits .260, it's a good move. Way to go, KW.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) OK, I only just started reading this thread. How has Youkilis been this year? About as bad as Zach Stewart.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) "We're not adding payroll." Sox fans better start showing up or we'll add nobody.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Right, because its insanely criminal trade one guy who was going to be DFA-ed for another. Borchard for Thornton?
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Bowden says utility and a pitcher. I'm guessing Lilly and stewart Good guess
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Bowden says utility and a pitcher. I'm guessing Lilly and stewart Lilli just PR, it can't be him.
June 24, 201213 yr Man, the White Sox clubhouse boy is going to be pissed. Gonna have to get more towels for the sweatiest man in baseball. Also, I hope we fans can stop b****ing about our GM. He is actually trying to improve the team.
June 24, 201213 yr Awesome trust me I think this is a move that is ends up being the difference maker. All this guy needs is a new team and manager and he'll resort back to the .260-.275 Youk and be a great asset to the bottom of our lineup. Nice wok Kenny, no if it isn't to much to ask go and snag us a starter before our Division rivials have a chance to.
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) Lilli just PR, it can't be him. Sure it can
June 24, 201213 yr I wonder if Lillibridge has been traded, why the Red Sox would want him. Don't they already have about 6 MLB-level Of'ers with a few more on the DL?
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) Lilli just PR, it can't be him. Has to be Escobar then.
June 24, 201213 yr Hopefully the utility guy is Hudsons bum ass. I never want to see him pop up again. Gross thank goodness the Greek Saviour is on his way here
June 24, 201213 yr My guess is it's Stewart and Ozzie Martinez... Doesn't seem like they have room on the 40 man roster and we just took Martinez off ours..
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) Not looking forward to short-bus Youkilis nicknames. KY Jelley!
June 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) Sure it can You don't use guys who are involved in advanced trade talks.
June 24, 201213 yr Well, if we're giving up Lilli too, hopefully we're not paying a cent and there's some deal regarding his option if we pick that up. Even if the team has soured on him again, not thrilled about giving that piece up.
June 24, 201213 yr Despite being primarily an OFer with the sox, lillibridge was thought of as a + defensive SS throughout his tour in the minors. The guy is actually decently valuable, but certainly expendable
June 24, 201213 yr I don't see us parting with Lilli nor Esco. It won't be something off the roster unless it's O-Dog. Once the sox game is over KW will emerge with his smirke bragging about how he made a dollar out of .50 in faith that we the sox fans start showing up. I think Lilli and Esco are safe.
