I've been trying to do this to, but haven't been able to work it out. Most of my closest buddies from college are all still single, so we have no reason not to.

Ya, unfortunately for me within the last 2 years a lot of my college and high school buddies have gotten married and/or knocked up girlfriends/wives so it's getting more difficult for me to put something like this together. But it's something I've always wanted to do and I want to make it happen before I become creepy old guy.

1. Preferably in the middle of the strip. We've stayed at hooter and mgm before and just find it so far out of the way. Probably not one of the higher end ones.

2. Hmm. I do have cards at hollywood, Harrahs joliet, four winds. I think a few of those tie into Vegas hotels but not sure. I would guess Harrahs does.

If you don't care about the hotel focus on what discount codes/packages you can find. I think the boards at fatwallet.com listed a lot of them and were kept updated, Smartervegas.com was the other one.

The one piece of advice I give to all young single/couple is to not make yourself house poor so you can travel. My kids are 15 and 13 and have been to 36 states and Canada.

edit: still not good with numbers after all these years of research

Great advice. Your realtor will try to get you to spend every dime you can get approved for. We got approved for literally double the house price that we felt comfortable buying. We would have been out on the streets eventually if we had spent that much.

They all tie into Vegas hotels. Some just might not be on the strip. Check on the different casinos websites, and they will tell you what else in under their roof, so to speak. If you go a decent amount and drop some change, they will get a room for pretty cheap.

Easy there, killer.

Harrah's Joliet is a Caesars property, and if you go to totalrewards.com and login with your card number and PIN, you can get some pretty good rates on rooms as long as you aren't going during a high demand time. IP and Harrah's are both in the middle of the strip and are on the lower end of the strip's price range.

EDIT: Just noticed that Imperial Palace has been renamed The Quad Resort and Casino. Not sure how that will impact prices.

Harrah's and Treasure Island are both pretty reasonable and are outstanding locations.

duh, just stay at shack's

I know exactly what you mean. I only have a couple years left where I could feasibly pull it off and not come across as creepy old guy.

St. Patty's Day?

And yes, might as well travel as much as you can. I tend to do plenty of spur of the moment trips. One of the nicer benefits of being single. Just do whatever, whenever.

Yeah, this will be the 3rd straight year in Savannah for St. Patrick's Day. That place is amazing.

Nice. I knew you had been before, so I figured. I went 2 years ago but not last year. I'll be going again for sure this year. What a ridiculous time.

Our first year, we were goners by about 8pm. Never even made it out to the bars after. We learned from our mistakes and last year we went from 5am to 2 am. It was epic.

I'm trying to figure out options. I found dirt cheap airfare, but I'm going to try and coax my work into sending me for free.

If your work gets you a free hotel room, then rental car is on me! :D

So booked a trip to Vegas for the weekend of the sweet sixteen. We're staying at the Elara Hilton, I've never been to Vegas so looking for some suggestions for Casinos/Bars/Sportbooks.

Haha, solid. The year I was there, we had some guys falling off by the early evening. Just straight passed out in the bar - so we made them cab it back. We lost (and found) several people throughout the day. Out of our group of 11, only me and 2 other guys lasted until the bars closed.

I lost my friends in the crowd at one point and just stopped walking hoping that they would eventually turn around and come back when they realized I was gone. Which is exactly what happened, albeit about 20 min later. Without cell phone service, you quickly realize how difficult it can be to find people in a crowd of a million people in such a confined area.

Just bought my ticket yesterday. I'll be there the 12th through the 19th.

And you're spot on with the crowds. It's overwhelming at times with EVERYONE wearing green. Thankfully, at 6'6, I'm easy to spot, or can see over crowds to find people. Can't wait to be down there again. We always make sure to hit up Tybee Island a couple times too.

I leave for Denver this Thursday. So excited to check that city out again. And I'm still in the process of planning a Spring Training trip for sometime between Feb 26 and Mar 2. Airfare isn't bad, but a place to stay and a car rental is a challenge.

Anyone know of a car rental place that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for someone renting under age 25? I'm 24 and it's a pain in the ass. I just want to have a car if I go to Spring Training.

I'm bringing this back.

I've decided that in 2014, I'm going to travel as much as possible. I'm 24, now is the time. I've already got trips to Denver, CO and Savannah, GA planned, and I'm in the process of planning another to Arizona for Spring Training and will also be going on a cruise this summer.

In regards to airfare, Sweet Baby Jesus is Kayak an amazing website.

It's a great idea to travel if you can. I just finished studying in September and have been travelling a lot since then. Once I start working it will be a lot more difficult, so I just want to see the world a bit while I can. So far I've just stuck to Europe with Croatia (Dubrovnik/Plitvice National Park/Split), Paris, Iceland (Reykjavik/Southern Iceland), Czech Republic (Prague/Cesky Krumlov), Austria (Hallstatt/Salzburg/Vienna), Amsterdam, Belgium (Brussels/Bruges/Ghent/Antwerp) Barcelona, Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye, Swedish Lapland (Kiruna/Abisko + Stockholm) and Norway (Tromsø).

Next I will be off to Thailand on Thurday. Just got my visa today that will allow me to stay for 60 days and I think I can extend for 30 days on top of that once I'm out there. It will be my 3rd time to Thailand and I have lots of friends there in Bangkok who I will stay with, but I hope to travel out to Myanmar or Laos/Cambodia as I have not had the chance to do that yet.

Sweden and Norway were both northern lights hunting trips, which were amazing. We got incredibly lucky and managed to see the lights numerous times. It's quite a moving experience and something that I would highly recommend. Here's one of my photos of the lights in Tromsø:

All the sudden I have a very busy 2014.

At the end of February I am driving to D.C. with my grandma, brother, sister-in-law, and my niece and nephew to go to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins.

At the end of March I am driving to Florida with one of my old college roommates to go see our other old college roommate. A reunion of the Three's Company group. The girls want to go to Disney and all that stuff, so that should be fun. I haven't been to Disney since I was....7 or 8 I think.

At the end of April I am driving to Nashville with the family and family friends to see the Blackhawks final game of the season versus the Predators. We all have made sure we have red jerseys because of Nashville's "Keep the Red Out" campaign to keep Hawks fans from attending games.

In July, my old roommate's sister is getting married, so I'll be attending that of course.

Sometime in August my brother will be having his bachelor party. I think we are going to Chain'O'Lakes for a weekend to party on our pontoon boat and get hammered.

In September my brother is getting married, so that weekend will be fun.

So in a way, I guess it's good that I haven't found a full-time career job yet, because now I can pretty much guarantee I am able to make all these events and go on all these trips.

I got to see the Northern Lights when I was in Alaska in 2006. One of the coolest sights I've ever seen.

Found out today that my buddy is moving to Orlando in a couple weeks, so that will probably be my next stop this year. Also have a friend in Fayetteville, AR that I'd like to visit.

That all sounds awesome. I lived in Germany for a couple years growing up but I really wish I took the time after college to back for a bit.

lol seriously what's the bankroll for a trip like that?

We just had to re-arrange our trip to Bryce Canyon and Zion because of all the damn snow/cold days pushing back the end of my wife's school year.

Headed to Denver today. Suggestions on where to eat and what to do/see?
