In his last 22 games, Beckham is hitting .304 with an .876 OPS. Not bad for an official lost cause.

I don't know how long he has to be adequate for me to believe it will last at this point. He's the king of extended decent runs in the midst of pure s***. Manto had suggested in an article earlier this year that Gordon gets by at times with pure talent, but his poor mechanics that were not fixed at the lower levels end up catching up to him. Going to be hard to know if what we see is talent manifesting itself (temporary success) or the permanent ironing-out of mechanical problems (long term success).

Well, when a 2B sucks to high heaven teams tend to mix things up, there's also injuries to account for; the Sox are 23rd in 2B WAR this season. 24-30: the Weeks Brothers, Kelly Johnson, KC's Getz-Giavotella-Betancout, San Francisco's Scutaro-Theriot-Burriss, Detroit's Santiago-Infante-Raburn and Baltimore's Andino-Quintanilla-Flaherty.

He's certainly playing like it the last two days.

I just have a feeling that at the end of this year Gordon will be about 3-5 home runs short of where we'd like his total to be at, and about 10 point short of where we'd like his average to be at
