Sox vs. Tigers in Zanzibar

They haven't given up a run on defense in 1.6 games. That makes them look better.

Ironic that a misplay by the Sox defense is the biggest play of the game so far?

I say just leave Santiago in there until the score changes.

Ok, here's the plan...

We come back and win this thing.

Tomorrow, it rains all day, and they call it around 4.

Tigers come back on Monday and Verlander can't pitch.

Obviously they're more talented. I'm still not convinced they're better. They have more upside, but they're so bad defensively.

Well luckily we play quite a bit of games against each other to see who is better.....ooppsss

Rios is awesome.

8 for his last 46, but 3 of those were home runs at least

Flavum, supposed to rain tomorrow?

You just realized this :)

I amazed actually. They are very good on paper and they are in 2nd place which many label the weakest division in baseball.

I find it more impressive the less experienced players on the Sox have fared better than veterans when it comes to pitching. You knew Sale would be good but not Cy Young candidate good.

We've let at least four games get away against both the Royals and Tigers. The Friday and Sunday games were absolutely excruciating.

In the end, that's what will be remembered the most if we don't end up winning the division and fade down the stretch while DET plays 10 games over from here on out.

Of course, following their normal trend line, they take the lead or fall back as soon as they're in first or tied...often getting swept. Or they're swept before they play us and then magically turn it on again.

It's worth asking whether head-to-head is a valid way to measure it. A team may not be good in general, but the individual matchup of two teams allows the generally worse team to be better head-to-head. Is it more important that you can beat a wide variety of teams or that you beat a particular, good one?

Since when did Omogrosso become a reliever the Sox rely on? Cabrera now 3-3 off of him, time to try someone else.

Give me Veal/Septimo

I'm not a big fan of trying to play matchups with Cabrera. He will hit all of your pitchers.

Wow, the coaching staff caught sleeping there. Brutal

We need a postponed Game 162 against the Tigers with the White Sox being down by one going into the last game...Sale versus Verlander/Scherzer in Chicago.

Win Game 163 vs. Detroit and then storm through the playoffs.

Should have just left Hector in.

The formula to win this division is to beat your division, beat the poor teams, and then to play 500 against the better teams, we have done fine against the better teams, however have dropped a ridiculous amount of games to the NL, the Royals, and the Tigers. We play 500 against just that group and this race is over.

The better team will be in the playoffs.

it kinda feels like we've been a .500 team recently.

win one, lose one

Catch the ball AJ

So is Veal unavailable tonight after facing 3 batters in 3 games?

That is the beauty of baseball. It's beyond annoying though that whoever battles the Sox for 1st always b**** slaps them. There has to be a way to fix this.

The hourly forecast looks pretty bad right now, including 7-10pm.

Of course, it would just be Scherzer again probably, so we're screwed.

That would be a shame. Isn't it the team's call prior to the start of the game? With the low attendance projected cause the Bears game, I think everyone would be content with this.

I've actually liked the way we've played most of our potential playoff opponents minus the Tigers. We can run with the Yanks and Rangers head-to-head, it seems

This guy has no control. bullpen been killing us
