Twins to give up Span, and then Revere too? Seems strange, I thought they were fans of Revere

They need pitching pretty badly.

Revere to Phils:

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports that the Phillies have acquired outfielder Ben Revere from the Twins.

It's not yet clear what the Twins are getting in return, but they've been on the hunt for young starting pitching. Revere will presumably start in center field for the Phillies in 2013. He batted .294/.333/.342 with 40 stolen bases in 124 games this past season for Minnesota.

Source is also insistent that the Royals are not in the Anibal Sanchez market -- not at five years and $70M-plus, where it stands now.

Yep. I think Revere's gonna stick around for a while and hit for a little more power eventually, but he's a 3-4 WAR player at his peak. Worley looks like he could be there next year.

Bay got $1M base from seattle w/ chance make $2M more if he's a regular. w/$21M from mets, could make $24M

Wow. They might as just build that statue of Theo now. Just when I think he can't impress anymore, BAM, he makes another incredible move.

I love the Revere trade. He is basically Juan Pierre with less power, and the Twins have a 'better Revere' with Aaron Hicks coming up (stronger arm, more patient at the plate) sometime in 2013

Plus 2 more pitchers to help stock the roster

I bet the Dodgers jump on Sanchez now that Greinke is leaning toward Texas.

Should be a good read when he gets that back.

His stadium in Japan used to have Ivy. Liked the idea of pitching in wrigley for that and history of stadium he says

And we got rid of him to avoid 8-figures.

Damn, bmac would make our rotation really appealing.

Yeah sounds like $15.5 million over 2 years. The Diamondbacks have tons of pitching depth now.
