Harper and Trout have f***ed up reality for baseball fans.

In more ways than one, honestly...yes, now prospects are expected to pan out at 22-24 instead of 25-26, but at the same time, now many of these prospects that will never turn into anything are expected to do too much, or held on to for too long.

It's a two-way street.

I actually think Zobrist would cost more than Olt.

He's 31, going on 32 in May and makes over 5.5 mil this season with two team option years over 7.5 mil.

He should be less.

The problem is, is that he's way out of practice at 3B.

This is one of those situations (not unlike Konerko with the Sox) where the player is just worth most to the team that currently has him.

All the Beckham haters should know that TB would probably take him for Zobrist even-up.

Zobrist, saber-wise, is one of the best players in baseball. I am a Beckham fan, but if that trade is available, the Sox would not be wise to pass.

I really think most people have no idea just how good he has been the last several years. His contract is a steal.

That deal is a no brainer for the Sox, the Rays aren't going to make that trade.

Scott Rolen is terrible.

Over his last 599 PAs, he's put up .244/.301/.397/.698.

Rios for Olt is kind of a cool idea.

Ok but what production did we have there before? At the right price he might be an option considering he would be sharing playing time with Keppinger.

You will be llucky to get 100 ABs out of Rolen before his legs fall off. Literally.

If the Sox could trade Beckham for Zobrist, I'd personally offer to drive Gordo to TB and pick up Zobrist.

What are you basing that on.........his AA stats? He could be but he has a less than .500 OPS in the major leagues and he's older than Viciedo. According to your previous posts, acquiring him would not be the best option.

I would trade Rios for Olt for sure. I would trade Rios for a bag of balls if the other team took his contract. But this is another case of posters loving other teams' prospects while hating on White Sox prospects who put up similar if not better numbers.

Mike Olt pre-2012...ranked 42nd best prospect

Brian Anderson pre-2005...ranked 37th best prospect

Olt's success is far from guaranteed.

I like the wisdom in this post. I don't always trust this organization when it comes to prospects who aren't pitchers.

Is Rios contract that expensive by today's non penny pitching Reinsdorf standards? Some of the adjustments made him one of the better players on the team. I'd take a chance on him being good this season.
