July 31, 201312 yr Rios may be more attractive a year from now. He will be playing for a contract, will have little time left on this contract, and will probably cost the Sox about the same to pay him until then and have him on the roster that it will cost to dump him now. Unless you are getting a really good prospect, paying a ton of money to make him go away makes little sense unless he is a total drag in the clubhouse. Edited July 31, 201312 yr by Dick Allen

July 31, 201312 yr I was watching Kirkjian on ESPN and he thought rios' contract would prevent him getting moved. I hope he's gone. We'll see. I don't expect much, honestly. That's why I wasn't that thrilled with a fire sale b/c our assets we'd trade are all priced highly.
