8/5 Game thread vs Yankees. 7:00, CSN

Featured Replies

The national news has swamped the Cell tonight in order to see if Jeff Keppinger is actually capable of hitting the ball out of the infield.

Tonight's pitcher @jose_quintana24 is the last current White Sox to win a game on July 21 vs. the Braves. Peavy won on July 25

I'd go if the weather was a little better... not for the Yanks and the A-Rod circus, but to show support for the White Sox.

I hope the crowd does us proud with some solid boos.

Because of the winless road trip? ;)

I think moving forward, losing streaks should be treated like winning streaks with regards to game threads, and if the Sox lose, the previous thread starter has to start the next one. If this is already being done, then consider me an idiot.

Imagine the raucous booing of both teams. No one will have shown up for any positive reason.

I second this brilliant notion!

Going tonight my boos are ready.

I think it's more likely just the fact that sox are in national news created ticket interest. Hell, Yankees used to be automatic lock for 25k, i'm guessing some fans just found out they were in town since nobody has paid attention to this team.

Cubs fans want to see their old pal Alfonso again

#WhiteSox lineup for 8/5: Ramirez 6, Keppinger 5, Rios 9, Konerko 3, Dunn DH, Beckham 4, Viciedo 7, Wells 8, Phegley 2. Quintana 1.

Hoping for an A-rod walkoff. How awesome that would be. 11 game losing streak (worst in 57 years) courtesy of A-roid.

It's in Chicago.

It's in Chicago.

Irrelevant. With the Sox offense, any go-ahead HR by the opposing team is a walkoff, home or away.

True, what's the record for all time losses in a row? I'd assume we lose all 3 weather permitting, so that's 13. That would have to be the record??

Not even close. The longest is 2x that long, 26 in a row, but that was from 1889. In the more modern era it's 23 in a row by the Phillies.

Once I hit the acceptance stage of grief, this season became much more amusing.

Rick Hahn asked about ARod and didn't want to comment. Said "You've seen how this team has played: I've got 99 problems and ARod isn't one."
