December 3, 201312 yr I wish I could be a fly on the wall in just one staff meeting leading up to the GM meetings, so I could know what the hell the Sox are doing/planning/wanting our of their roster next season.
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) I wish I could be a fly on the wall in just one staff meeting leading up to the GM meetings, so I could know what the hell the Sox are doing/planning/wanting our of their roster next season. You would be swatted and squished. No leaks allowed !
December 3, 201312 yr An update from Bucket would be really nice.....doesnt look like we're getting Salty(Marlins & Twins)....what's left? Kurt Suzuki?
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:45 AM) An update from Bucket would be really nice.....doesnt look like we're getting Salty(Marlins & Twins)....what's left? Kurt Suzuki? Still plenty of catchers the Sox could trade for.
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) Still plenty of catchers the Sox could trade for. Certainly....just not hearing an update besides the Flowers resign has me just a tad bit worried.
December 3, 201312 yr Hanigan traded to the Rays. Possible 3-team deal. Maybe since the Rays would then have Molina, Hanigan, and Lobaton, maybe we kicked in very little in the deal to grab Lobaton?
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) Certainly....just not hearing an update besides the Flowers resign has me just a tad bit worried. I understand completely. The Rays sign Hanigan basically saying hey no catchers can hit so might as well sign the one who can throw out a runners and work a walk while we still have catchers who can't do anything right.
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Hanigan traded to the Rays. Possible 3-team deal. Maybe since the Rays would then have Molina, Hanigan, and Lobaton, maybe we kicked in very little in the deal to grab Lobaton? I would love it if the Rays were somehow flipping Hanigan to the Sox
December 3, 201312 yr Well one thing is for sure....the A's are definitely working the trade market...hopefully we can get Jaso from them sometime soon
December 3, 201312 yr Oh I get it, Hahn meant the trade market was heating up in general. Ya it is, fun to watch.
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) Oh I get it, Hahn meant the trade market was heating up in general. Ya it is, fun to watch. You're just now figuring that out?
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) Oh I get it, Hahn meant the trade market was heating up in general. Ya it is, fun to watch. There's still plenty of time. I'd still rather wait for the right deal than make a bad deal. This team cannot afford any more bad deals.
December 3, 201312 yr Refresh my memory..was @k0na actually someone in the know? Or basically some guy who got one story first out of nowhere Edited December 3, 201312 yr by Jose Paniagua

December 3, 201312 yr More from Rick Hahn. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...ent_id=64352668
December 3, 201312 yr Connects into the Jays organization IIRC. I don't know his connection, but I doubt it's with the Jays. He is from the Chicago area and scooped multiple deals involving Sox players that had nothing to do with the Jays. He had the first Peavy trade (the one he vetoed) a full day before anybody in the media had it, and he had the Danks extension well before anybody else as well. My guess is that he has a close friend or relative who works for the Sox.
December 3, 201312 yr Did that article really say our payroll is expected to be in the mid-to-high $80M's range?
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) Did that article really say our payroll is expected to be in the mid-to-high $80M's range? Yup and basically said nothing we didn't already know. Is Hahn really this stealthy or is there little interest in what is actually available from the Sox? I think the Sox are constipated. December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) Did that article really say our payroll is expected to be in the mid-to-high $80M's range? Does Hahn really think we can compete with this roster with an 80 million dollar payroll.
December 3, 201312 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Does Hahn really think we can compete with this roster with an 80 million dollar payroll. No. Competing is not the plan. Not sure why people are surprised by this.

Or basically some guy who got one story first out of nowhere He/she has broke a lot of Sox news on the MLB.com forum for the last 5 or so years now, so I'd consider them a real source. Why?
