Yes, go figure a CUBS fan thinks this.

Tell me, what does Ty Youngfelt do? Why are we quoting him, he of the "if it's Tuesday in America, it's Friday in Japan" ?

I'm actually deleting the post, seems his "friends" posted it to get a rise from twitter universe. Sorry guys.

Why do people keep posting tweets from these random people. If it isn't a tweet from Rosenthal/Olney/Heyman or a select few others, who cares? Do you really think these people have more insight than those I've mentioned?

By friends, he means himself and that he got wasted and thought he'd get a rise out of people.

I mean, can we make sure it's a legit source before posting? We can speculate with the best of them. I can put out a tweet right now saying that my sources say the White Sox are close. I don't have sources, it's not true, but s***, if I'm right, I look like a f***ing genius. That's what people are trying to do right now, and they are running with and continuing on with it. There is no need to cite Ty Youngfelt or Tom Loxas. Leave it to legitimate, reputable journalists.

I think we can all agree that k0na is a pretty rare exception.

Even so, nobody believed him the first time until he was proven right. Unless somebody has a history of breaking something, they should be pretty much ignored.

Exactly. If a dude has a history of being right, even if randomly and spontaneously, then post away. Ty Youngfelt seems like a homer Cubs fan.

im just being a smartass. k0na never whored himself out to twitter like the rest of these guys we are reading. He simply showed up, dropped a bomb post, and left

Bam, zoom, straight to the moon!

God some of the noobies here are making this thread unbearable to read at times.

Yep. I swear about half this thread is made up of posts by the same 2 or 3 people and about 75% of those posts add nothing to the discussion.

At this point, does anyone here REALLY want the Chicago White Sox to spend like $25 million per season on a Japanese import whose k/9 went way down and bb/9 went way up over the last two years?

Mostly just 14 year olds who are dying to find something to be excited about

Theo in Tanaka pitch:"...you'll be our Kershaw, our Sabathia..."they know his personality, felt best approach was to sell him as 'the man'...

Ty Youngfelt ‏@TyYoungfelt 14m

@bpaoni Unchanged from my sources... Cubs high team, Dodgers w/lower, competitive offer focused on better geo/roster, Yanks getting creative

Ty Youngfelt ‏@TyYoungfelt 11m

Did hear that 1 team has an 'Oakland/Cespedes' type offer on table (really high AAV, really short contract) although MT seems uninterested

Ty Youngfelt ‏@TyYoungfelt 9m

@TyYoungfelt Hate 140 characters:to clarify at 1point such offer on table,Tanaka @ time uninterested, focusing on long term-not type to move

That would be a perfect way for the White Sox to stand out.

No. If he signs somewhere else for $25 million per for 6+ years, I say fine. The Sox can focus elsewhere. I'd be okay with a 7/$140 million deal, but I really think at least one team will be offering more.

I don't want to see them go to $25 million or to 7 years, but the years scare me more than the yearly salary. I would like to see them sign him, but only if it stays around 5/100 or 6/120 and I don't think that will get it done. He already has a lot of mileage on that arm and I'd be nervous about handing out a 7 year deal to any pitcher unless the dollars were low. All that being said, if they sign him, the fanboy in me will be excited no matter what the cost.

And a guy who has been overworked more than a Cub under Dusty Baker?

Not for 6-7 years. I really feel that the end of that contract will be pretty brutal.

Hopefully Hahn on CSN tonight will be an interesting interview. If he cancels, that might be a good sign for the Sox.

According to his twitter account he has decided something could be anything

It's not unrealistic to think that he could pick somewhere he wants to play for less money than another offer. Seriously how many 25 year olds in the game make 20+ mill a year? Most are making league minimum or are in the arbitration process still.

Score said he decided

Throwing the same thing into reference's translator I get this.

I can't decide Masahiro Tanaka /MASAHIROTANAKA?@t_masahiro1813m (_);

EDIT, Bing comes up with the same thing.
