Kam Chancellor's f***ing huge. That guy's literally a LB playing safety (kinda like Urlacher in college, but way faster).

Except he was recruited as a QB.

I'm sure Seahawk fans are excited, but that made for a really boring game. Hasn't been a blow out like that since the Bucs beat up on the Raiders.

It felt like the exact same game.

Cliff Avril had a great game. What a great free agent signing by John Schneider.

The Seahawks only blitzed 6 times last night.

Amazing D Line work coupled with allowing Manning to hit dump offs before their fast as hell defense destroyed that player. Pretty good strategy.

Why did people doubt that Pete Carroll could be successful in the NFL? He was very successful with well-paid players at his last job.

Mayweather claims now he didn't bey the game. I don't believe that for a second.

I don't doubt that he bet the game, but the 10.4 million thing was a scam...that much was confirmed in the middle of the week.

Because he was a college coach. Thats really the only reason.

Wasn't he pretty terrible with the Patriots?

edit: looks like he was average with the Patriots. I was thinking of when he took over the Jets job and went 6-10. He's been just over .500 in the NFL. I don't think he's suddenly great because of this win.

But he was a college coach coaching well-paid professionals.

To be fair, it was a small number of well paid guys, now he has a whole roster of well paid roided up professionals.

Yeah but at USC he was coaching well-paid professionals against teams that didn't have professional level talent. I think you can throw most college success out the window when evaluating coaching talent. Maybe if you're Harbough and you take a program from nothing to great and sustain that success. That's impressive because you're winning without the best players. USC just reloaded ever year. And they played in a pretty bad conference.

He didn't have a very good track record as a HC at the NFL level. That's where most of the doubt came from.

No sour grapes intended, but it was striking last night watching all of these undrafted and late round guys looking bigger, faster and stronger than everyone else on the field.

He was great at USC (which it has been shown still needs a good coach to be elite) because he got out of the way and played and catered to his talent. He is well known as being a players coach who routinely keeps things light. It most likely works well with new pro players as well as vets.

That's the same thing he does now. It wasn't coaching that made the Seahawks D so outstanding, it was pure speed and talent. Now I think Carroll has a major say in personnel and they gutted the entire roster when he showed up, so he definitely deserves credit for that.

Carroll has final say on all personnel decisions.

WEll, he is and has always been a defensive coach, so there must be something he is doing right to produce such a successful defense.

After watching NFL for past decade, I'm less enthralled with crazy schemes than coaches who are able to develop talent and teach their scheme to perfection. Seems Carroll is very good at both. That whole organization seems on the same page, and that is so rare in the NFL and difficult to accomplish. See Browns.

Even if you offer stability it's not easy. They appear to be on the upswing, but the Bills fit that model too.

"They call him Ctrl-Alt-Delete, because on the football field, whatever windows are open, he'll close em up in a hurry"

That was pretty good.
