US beat their 2nd team in a friendly, and for today all the US has to do is play a solid game and walk away with a tie.

Their first team just tied a team that the US beat. The US has EPL/Bundesliga caliber players playing in MLS. Just because they are in MLS doesn't mean they are worse.

US did not outplay Ghana (we won but we weren't the better team that day; do we have excuses for why, sure, but point being, Ghana is a really good team) and Germany didn't play their big game. The Germans are an absolute monster of a force.

What are the rules on roster changes? Is it too late to add Michael Phelps?

Aside from maybe Bradley and a couple of our goalies I don't think we have anyone who could suit up for the top 2 teams there, which is basically what their whole roster is, and the rest play for equally elite clubs. We could have players on lower table fodder but that's about it. (No I'm not counting Julian Green)

Omar Gonzalez getting the start instead of Cameron...

I don't mind Bard Davis for Bedoya, but Gonzalez has not been great lately (granted Cameron had two huge mistakes vs. Portugal, but he was a rock vs. Ghana).

Conditions favor a sloppy, low scoring match. Get a point today, render the other match irrelevant, and let's start thinking about Belgium...

3-1 Germany

Id say its a really unlikely scenario that Germany wins by 2. As soon as they get a goal lead they should just pack it in seeing as a win or tie is the same to them.

USA Advances to next round matrix:

Get used to seeing us chasing the ball.

LOLWhat, every ref at every level knows what advantage is.

So, this is what a good soccer team looks like, huh?

They have their flaws but setting up offensive pressure isnt one of them.

Portugal on the board first against Ghana. That's good for the USA.

Bradley keeps giving the ball away.

Bradley keeps giving the ball away.

They have to make the correct runs as well.

Pretty physical game with no calls.

Bradley sucking so far this first half

He's playing well in his own zone but atrocious in goal scoring opportunities. What a bad touch.
