They almost never even attempt to kick a sideline to sideline pass and they just were to hesitant trying to attack off the dribble until the end. Jozy, Julian, and Yedlin should provide us with some very bright offensive futures. Some late shots but I'm not going to lose much sleep over that, given how much we were outplayed. chw42 Posted July 1, 2014 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We had so many chances to equalize. That set piece on the Bradley free kick was beautiful, yet we couldn't capitalize. Execution is what hurt both Belgium and the US in this game. Belgium couldn't execute at all until they scored their two goals even though they had around 20 chances. The US had 4 golden opportunities at the end of the game and only capitalized on one and it was by a 19 year old who wasn't even supposed to play. There's no reason Wondolowski should have missed that shot at the end of regulation. Dempsey and Jones also had incredible opportunities to put in an equalizer. He is young and raw but he may be the most technical player on the ball the US have. At that point I think the US was still playing for pks if necessary.
