Damn, Avila did a nice job blocking him there.

Very close, but out. Avila blocked the front of the plate, so Eaton had to reach around the side, and that cost him the base. Easily safe if he slides through Avila's leg.

Eaton is so fun

He has to walk more, though.

A 653 OPS is Brian Anderson-esque. And 5/10 on steals needs some improvement as well.

Was there any talk on the broadcast about playing the infield back when Cabrera was on 3rd earlier in the game? Seems like the Sox made it way too easy for Hunter to get the job done.

I thought you couldn't block the f***ing plate.

You cannot waste them against Detroit it most times cost the Sox a W.

I kind of disagree with Hawk there in praising Beckham. Yes he hit it pretty hard. But ... it was right at the third baseman where you don't want to hit it in that situation. I mean, hit a fly ball or go to right field.

Avila got away with blocking the plate there. Eaton is safe if he can slide directly to the plate.

What's the new rule about blocking the plate? Can the umpire call the baserunner safe/discretion?

Still have 3 innings but well see.

GB could of bunted it back to the pitcher and Hawk would of praised him. GB does no wrong.

Man he's come close to going yard tonight

The Detroit bullpen is a trainwreck at the back end with Nathan and Joba recently.

That said, Nathan's only blown a couple of games his entire career against the White Sox.

Joba has had 1 bad outing in a month that was Sunday night.

As usual, the opponent threatens or scores the inning after the White Sox blow a huge scoring opportunity.

Or maybe, just maybe, this is the John Danks we'll have for the remainder of the season...and things will start to get really interesting with adding one more veteran starter to the back end of the rotation.

Remember when Austin Jackson and Avila looked like perennial All-Stars and Martinez looked like toast?
