I don't understand how some people think Eaton isn't good at CF.

I said this yesterday, but LF, C and a SP slot seem to be the places where there's no one locked in for the future.

I wouldn't narrow it down to LF. I think the non-Eaton places in the OF, and it's looking more like it would be hard to displace Eaton as CF, are fair game and we'll actively pursue new options there. If next year is "the" year, I'm not just handing that position to Avisail. He looked inferior defensively to Dayan and he has a lot left to prove at the plate. I want him to get his shot, but I wouldn't move heaven and earth to do it.

Tigers fans completely taking over the stadium. :(

Nice catch Eaton he goes to his left very well.

Webb doing himself no favors tonight. His command has been very disappointing this year.

What were you saying about Webb should have been in instead of Petricka?

Avi seems to be one of their 4 core players going forward with Sale, Q and Abreu. They'll give him every chance to become a solid major leaguer. I'd actually prefer they make him a LF.

Webb, you're making it hard for me to defend you right now...

I still prefer Daniel to Ryan, though. he gone

Webb not looking good tonight. Det 4-0

Well, the evening started out with promise.

But typical Tigers/White Sox result (since late 2010) when we have a chance to really make a charge at them.

Avi might look like Prince Fielder in a few months.

Haha, there has to be a joke in that statement somewhere

Good call on Eaton being great on defense...which he has been. However, I still believe if he's your best hitting outfielder, then that's a very bad hitting outfield.

As for Davidson, his AAA numbers this year are extremely scary. Not sure what happened to him, but he's basically been one of the worst hitters in the IL since the second series of the season.

Eaton needs to hit better. But I also think that the Eaton we eventually get is a player that we wouldn't mind being the best hitter in the OF.

Anyway, Dayan is our best hitting OF as of today. I don't know how there's much disputing that. Hopefully De Aza keeps rolling and can make that conversation a little more interesting, not to mention what a more developed version of Eaton ought to do at the plate.

Davidson has been troubling, but it's a deal where it's so bad that I find it hard to perceive it to be a legitimate part of his development. If it was more of a .230/.310/.400 kind of line I'd be thinking that maybe he lucked into more production than he deserved last year. With the way it looks, it screams "external factors."

Yup. Putnam should be our high-leverage bullpen arm right now, he's probably been the second best bullpen arm outside of Belisario.

He's becoming Prince. They also bang the same chick

I didn't even think about THAT.

Just go catch a cab, Hawk.

It reminds me of Nestor Molina, where his stats were so incredibly bad compared to past performance that you hoped there was some simple explanation for it other than that they forgot how to play the game.

If this year was any indication, he'll have to be a LF. I don't know how such a solid athlete could look so incredibly awkward trying to catch a fly ball.

Hawk wants Stone to do play by play this inning. One Cy Young award winner to another.

So when is Abreu going to learn plate discipline?

Shush! That was a nice gesture.

*Scherzer literally rolls the ball along the ground to the plate*
