I'm not giving Parsons 10+M per season. If I don't sign these guys, I bring over Nik and opt for vets like a Pau / Pierce at reasonable 1 year deals (hoping they are chasing rings). Stephenson is the only guy I'd give 10M to that is out there not named Bosh / Lebron / Melo. And that is because I happen to think there is a lot of upside with Lance. Unfortunately, there is some serious downside risk too.

 

IMO Parsons has more upside than Stephenson....Wouldn't HATE him though.

I kinda think it was gonna happen regardless...Taj was already told he was gonna start so the writing was on the walls. Doesn't necessarily mean there's anything brewing IMO. With Taj and potentially Mirotic (or even Greg Smith/Bairstow) there's just no need for him.

 

 

Also Lowry was resigned...Glad to see him not take his talents to south beach.

According to CBA FAQ, the amnesty window is the seven days after the July moratorium, so July 10-17 is when it would happen.

 

So ya, he may have been informed it's gonna happen.

Yes indeedy......And ya there's no way he's out of league. I never really thought he was THAT BAD (certainly had his nights though) but with Taj waiting in the wings and Mirotic hopefully coming over, it's time to move on.

He goes to whoever is the highest bidder and then the Bulls only have to pay the difference between his salary and the bid. If he goes unclaimed he becomes a free agent.

lol. Post Spurs? Would you guys stop. More rest for veterans? Pop has been managing minutes for the big three since before anybody knew who Justin Bieber was. Last year was nothing new. Shooting? Floor spacing has been critical for at least half a decade now as defensive schemes have gotten better. This is not a new era of basketball now because the Spurs beat the evil Heat.

 

You mean how Kawhi went from 24 MPG to 31 MPG back down to 29 MPG? Or maybe Tony Parker going from 32.5 MPG down to 32 MPG up to 33 MPG and then down to 29.4 MPG? Duncan went from 30.1 to 29.2. Maybe he's been managing it, but he cut back a hell of a lot this year.

 

The Heat could get away with being small because they have a transcendent player in LeBron. No team has ever won a title while being that undersized. The '11 Mavs probably had more shooters, or at least just as many, as the '14 Spurs. Point is shooting has been critical for years and teams have been paying for it before this offseason.

 

The 2011 Mavs' best 3PT shooter with at least 100 attempts was Peja at 40% exactly, 42/105. The 2014 Spurs had 3 players who shot at least 293 times (Belinelli, Mills, and Green), and they all shot better than 41.5%. There was also Matt Bonner, Boris Diaw, above 40% too (98 and 112 3PA, respectively). This isn't including Leonard's 37.9% on the season either. As a team, the Spurs shot 39.7% while the 2011 Mavs shot 36.5%.

 

Also, save Mike f'ing Miller (who isn't a "size" guy, even if he's 6'8"), the Heat had the exact same corps from 2013 to 2014. Look for yourself if you don't believe me. The Heat got a year older, a year slower, and were more banged up while the Spurs added more diversity, played fresher, and played healthier. Facts back this up.

 

Also, because #factsarefacts, I think this team was shorter than either the Heat or the Spurs.

Yea I don't think there's any chance he'll be out of the league. I just wonder whether somebody will throw a $4 or $5 million claim on him saving the Bulls that money. If they don't he'll certainly sign for the vet minimum pretty much wherever he wants to go.

Only teams with cap space can bid on him. I would guess that he'll get at least half of his due pay from his new team.
