As far as today's win ... with all the advanced stats out there, I wonder if anybody can tell us if the Sox will be .500 all year and be able to contend if Abreu continues to put up MVP numbers and Sale continues to wreak havoc on hitters? In other words, does the presence of two MVPs assure a team will not totally suck? I'm guessing Abreu's numbers alone and Sale's may be enough historically to keep a team at least around the .500 level. Has any team ever completely sucked (99 loss type team) WITH arguably the best hitter and best pitcher in the league on its roster? DeAza with 3 hits?? Nice. Also nice to see the Sox not completely fall off the ledge after the Royals debacle. The team continues to surprise (me) with its resiliency. The medical staff checked him out and offered him ice but he refused. He said he saw a flash of light when it hit but insisted he was okay. He was in good humor and kept cracking jokes about it.
