As opposed to Flowers hitting .093 for his last 30 games at his age and still retaining the catcher's position. Nobody has sky-high expectations for Sanchez. Field at least better than average, a 650-675 OPS would be a minor miracle his first season or two. Anything above that is a pleasant surprise.

Yea, like nobody overreacts pitch to pitch in the game thread or anything That was the worst at bat of the entire year Trade him now his value is plummeting He should have stolen that base it was a perfect pitch I can't believe he tried to steal that base what a terrible idea

You use an option year when he is on the 40-man roster and assigned to the minors at any point during the season. So Sanchez has already burned an option year this year and no amount of bringing him up and sending him down affects that.

This is his 6th year in the Sox organization, starting in the DSL and working his way up, making all the stops along the way. I'm sure he has had his share of adversity, but he made it to The Show.
