I wonder if Sox would bunt here if the game meant anything to the Sox.

I sure would love a legit #2 this offseason. I know he didn't GIDP that time but it sure looked like that would be #22. (His 21 is 6th worse in the majors)

 

I hope I'm wrong about Semien not being all that great and he can step into the role.

This game defines everything that is wrong with baseball. Too many pitchers. Too much jacking around inside and out of the batters box. Slow paced. Horribly paced game. Boring.

The sentiment on Wilkins was a lot different a couple months ago. He used to have all these fans and now he just has haters.

 

Sox broke Herrera's and Davis' scoreless innings streak in one swing.

Between the 2 of them they had 60+ consecutive scoreless innings. Nice to end them both. Wilkins deserved the call up but he's making as much contact as a pitcher. Hard to believe even in a small sample that he can adjust.

Bella whiffs Willingham. If you are Willingham you can't take that pitch. What a dummy. Bella is trash. He could have hit that low fastball.

KC's only hope is the Sox horrid bullpen. Six outs to go to pick up a game on Detroit. Odds definitely in favor of the southsiders but we've seen the implosion before.

That's all conor has to do against lefties; bat on ball and stroke singles.

Sox didn't strike out much the last 4-5 innings; their hitters had a clue and were putting bat on ball and had some damn good at bats, led by Conor and Eaton.

it was awesome Greg! They were s***canning Conor so hard when he got down 0-1 and 1-2. Then boom they went silent so quickly. Screw'em!

Yeah he's completely overmatched in absolutely every respect. The talent level is not there at all. Having never seen him I was hoping maybe he'd bet a Gload type... hell no.

 

That said, it's a nice message the org is sending to the other players in the minors, kind of a much smaller version of what the Twins did with Colabello (sp?) making the team out of ST and playing everyday for them. He'll be taken off the 40 after the season so the spot doesn't really matter, but the message is definitely cool.

 

Oh but that said I bet Buddy Bell thinks that one day he's going to be really awesome.
