I guess from this we can surmise that Rodon and Anderson are the only top 100 guys according to BA. I haven't heard enough love about Spencer Adams to think he would make the backend of any top 100 lists.

to tell you the truth, i have high hopes for him. can be #3 sp at best #2. the sox lucked out with him. even if the sox

missed out on several players who were targeted at the 2nd rd.

but montas should be higher.

Montas, for sure, is the one with the best shot of exploding into the Top 100.

Adams, until he proves himself for a full season in A ball, should be behind him.

Just for that average fastball velocity alone, Montas deserves some serious consideration.

that is the problem of all these top 10 etc.... they are all subjective. where

are the guidelines that are the bases for judging. M Adolfo i have hopes for

as i do for all sox prospects, but to arbitrarily post him in the top 10.

i hope i am wrong.

It is subjective by nature - that isn't a problem, that is what it is. There are no specific, measureable criteria that tell you what you need to know. It is an amalgam of many things, and all the advanced stats in the world won't change that (they just add to the color).

Read this.

Adams has front of the rotation upside with his stuff. Many people had Spencer Adams rated in the 20's. Pretend that the Sox were picking #26 overall and took Adams. Don't you think he'd be in the top 5?

I agree and will say this. there can be a huge discrepancy when looking at players.

I guess there is no right or wrong way to rate them.

I am now going to ask a question that is not related to this. I hope you didn't take

my comments I wrote personally. I wasn't saying this about you or future sox crew.

I was talking about those who get paid to do it for a living. the mock draft experts.

btw, I read the link. nice work. how long did it take to come up with everything in

there.

Didn't take it personally, just was pointing out that it is subjective by nature. There is no magic formula.

Glad you liked the link. It didn't take long to put it together, because really, most of the FS writers are already familiar with all of that information. I just happened to take the time to write it down.

Adams like Adolfo has yet but saw several games. that is several pro games. I

am or I should say I really like them as players / prospects. the rating is kind

of hard for some, esp Adolfo. in my amateurish attempt of rating the top 10,

has Adams starting anywhere in the 6-9. Adolfo at 11 .

now with the graduation of the other prospects to the majors. I can see Adams

jumping to 3-5 range and Adolfo 5-7.

now with ref to the mlb draft. I was totally surprise that Adams was there in the

2nr rd. it was a great pick with huge upside.

Random question: How is Ravelo's first name pronounced? Is it Rangel like Angel or Ranger? Or pronounced like "Ron-Hell"?

Ron-Hell

And Micker is Mike-er.

GORDITA CRUNCHELA I HEAR HES A TASTY YOUNG PROSPECT

Lol, I'm glad we let this run to its proper conclusion. If Ravelo ever makes it, I believe his official SoxTalk nickname should be "Gordita Crunchella."

I love that you are posting this everywhere, it really is the best nickname I've ever come up with.
