Amazingly, the Indians are only 2 GB of the Tigers at the moment and have Kluber going trmw.

 

KC has gone from +14 to +9.

But not anymore. They need to show some accountability. They will have as many losses as the White Sox and check their payroll. How many titles do they have the last 30 years? Illitch has to be a horrible owner.

Yes, but I don't bring that to every single thread. You do. This is really simple. Another team loses a game and you use that as an excuse to bring it in. The White Sox score a run and its an excuse to bring things in. I literally don't even want to comment in "winner threads" because you're just going to troll me every time we win a game.

And KC has the fewest innings out of their starters in the major leagues. Their bullpen is going to be taxed as the season goes on. All the teams in the Central are flawed. The Sox are still in it if they can play anywhere near their potential.

The Royals hitters stopped drawing walks and the lineup on cue went to garbage in a hurry. Like you said the starters have sucked without an anchor that the players all trust (Shields).

Now if you want to add psychology bulls***, they played like every game was a WS game for the first six weeks, causing fights; throwing at opposing hitters; acting like dickheads after they got hits, even meaningless hits so finally they are a bit 'weary' if you will as the dog days of the season near.

Their defense should keep them in it all year, but they are struggling!

Detroit sucks ... yes they do.

Minnie is not going to keep winning. The Sox turned their season around by losing four straight and six of seven to that lousy team in a span of two weeks.

Cleveland also sucks and had its season turned around by the Sox.

 

As Rongey said tonight, Sox are still going nowhere until they can play good ball for a solid two week stretch. One win tonigiht doesn't mean s*** if Detroit, as they probably will, take the next two.

If the Tigers had Nathan (although Soria has been better in his place), Verlander and Victor Martinez 100% healthy and they were still playing like this, Ausmus would have a lot more heat on him.

 

If you removed Robertson, LaRoche and Samardzija from the White Sox roster, nobody would be calling for Ventura to be fired because you can't normally win without three of your highest paid players.

 

When you lose a top five pitcher in baseball and the replacements are Simon and Greene...logic says that's a bit of a downgrade.

One thing is for sure--the Twins won-loss record the first 54 games was pretty lucky.

 

32-22, with 22 quality starts isn't sustainable to end up winning 96 games. They've probably played their way to contending the rest of the season, but I think when it's said and done, 87-89 wins will win the division. It wouldn't surprise me if four teams from the division end up with 86-89 wins and play extra baseball.

Greg, you have never said something so true as the bolded. I heard Hosmer say they were going to try and maintain this type of intensity from day 1, and wondered how long they could sustain it.
