Given how the Blackhawks PR machine works, I'd still be shocked if he attended training camp. No reason to deal with the media craziness right now, the playoffs are over half a year away still.

If he participates, then we can expect Kane to be ready for the season I bet. No way Mcdonough would let Kane to training camp and risk negative publicity like Kane being charged or something.

I would hope not, but just because they are good at creating a good hockey team and managing the cap doesn't mean they'd be good at dealing with this.

How could letting him come to camp be a horrible misstep? All they can do is act upon the information they have. So far he hasnt been charged and as far as we know the NHL hasnt stepped in and told the Hawks they were going to punish him. The main issue it could cause is Kane being a distraction but even if hes not there the media is going to be hounding his teammates and coaches about the situation all the time anyway.

you may very well be right. esp with the hawks on the salary cap max. however, the hawks are image conscience and this whole thing is really upsetting for them.

 

now, if the hawks knows he is coming to training, camp. 1 or 2 things may have happen. the grand jury came back positive or he, kane got a special something to travel outside the his state.

 

if anything, kane comes out of this without any criminal action, something this yr, closer to the deadline i think the hawks will explore any trade ideas.

 

it is really too bad the stl hockey player Vladimir Tarasenko signed a 8 yr deal just this summer. oh well.

but yeah, the hawks and their players will receive alot of media attentions. it will be expected. now is where i would trust the coach and the FO to step in and deflect it.... how??? i don't know, but i will trust the hawks org.

 

just maybe this stupidity of kane will help many of the young players on the hawks will learned, esp kane.

The Chicago Blackhawks will hold a press conference tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET, at which time they’re expected to field questions about the Patrick Kane situation.

 

The press conference will feature club president John McDonough, GM Stan Bowman, and head coach Joel Quenneville. It will be streamed live on CSNChicago.com.

 

Kane is not expected to be part of Thursday’s press conference, though he is expected to be at training camp, which starts Friday at the University of Notre Dame.

 

Kane’s agent, Pat Brisson, told the Chicago Sun-Times that the situation would be explained at the press conference. To what extent it will be explained, we’ll have to wait and see

Even after the departures of Brandon Saad, Johnny Oduya, Patrick Sharp, Brad Richards, and Antoine Vermette — not to mention the serious allegations against Patrick Kane, and the fact there hasn’t been a repeat champion during the salary-cap era — the Chicago Blackhawks remain the favorites to win the 2016 Stanley Cup at online bookmaker Bovada.

 

In fact, the Blackhawks’ odds have slightly improved — from 7/1 to 13/2 — since hoisting the Cup in June.

 

Other teams that have seen their odds improve are the Kings (14/1 to 10/1), Flames (40/1 to 28/1), and, most dramatically, Stars (66/1 to 28/1).

 

The Canucks (40/1 to 66/1), Leafs (66/1 to 100/1), and Coyotes (100/1 to 150/1) are among the teams that have seen their odds go the other way.

Yes, and he's only 21 years old.

 

He put up 19 points in 33 games on a bad Columbus team last year. Dano could be the next Saad.

ref to age, and moving up, isn't dano, if what is said to be true, be the same age as kane and toews??

 

penciling him as a 1 st liner without knowing for sure, i think it is wishful hoping.

 

then again, who will replace Saad and his numbers with the players the hawks has now??
