I also liked the fast paced format. Reminds me of the 3 point shoot out a bit.

Best home run derby ever last night. That was a blast to watch.

I thought they were showing replays during Frazier's at bats. They'd show a HR nearly landing and then he'd launch another. It was awesome.

He was the only one that did it the right way. He had his brother rapid fire pitches, just keep swinging. Prince would have won if he didnt admire his bombs

The pitcher could not throw until the ball landed. But yeah some were better than others at it. Pujols was especially slow.

Frazier was not doing that at all

He was. There was a ump dictating it

Edit: i went back and checked his hightlite hrs. All of them were when the umps arm was down. He was finelected unless there was a hometown conspiracy.

I echo everyone's sentiments. That was the best homerun derby in a long time, if not ever. The addition of the clock made it more dramatic and the whole thing was exciting with the head to head, etc. Fantastic job by baseball taking a stale event and making it extremely exciting. It was awesome.

I liked the clock but I think it's obvious the clock gives the guy up 2nd a huge, huge advantage. Something has to change about that, I think the guy going first won once.

My immediate suggestion: I liked 4 minutes, move the bonus time until after the 2nd guy has swung.

Pujols took his sweet time getting to 10 homers.

Agree with this. It's a disadvantage for the first guy since he has to hit after sitting out for 4 minutes. But at the same time, he's at a huge disadvantage for not knowing how many he has to hit.

I propose this:

1st guy's 5 minutes

2nd guy's 5 minutes

If tied or bonus time criteria is met:

2nd guy's bonus time

1st guy's bonus time

This will be the first #ASG in baseball history that there isn't a single #Yankees player or #RedSox player in the starting lineup. #USATMLB

I'd bet this is how it ends up, and I think it'll be awesome.

Someone add a comment if Chris does start warming?

Best parts were Trout lead off hr and then Chapmans amazing performance, hitting 103 multiple times.

Not a lot in between those.

Hey Frank Thomas is on!

DeGrom was really good too.

Mike Trout's first at bat in each all star game:

2012: single

2013: double

2014: triple

2015: home run
