i mute harrelson when he starts talking about what it takes to win

MJ is probably the best hitter this system has developed in years lol

Tell him to bulk up and hit HRs and he can DH then.

Or improve his defense?

0 plate discipline or pitch recognition and horrible defense makes a stinker in my book

Johnson has good command of his fastball and locatea his changeup well.

His breaking ball leaves something to be desired though.

Hawk reason we had no homegrown talent was KW.............say it like it is Hawk.

Looks like the slider stays up too much, but even as is he probably would have pitched better than Shark this year.

Hawk is really, really bad now. He is horrible to listen to when the Sox are playing the Royals.

Anyone see the Royals going down in the first round?

And yet still in top offensive categories on the team which isn't saying much for how bad offensive the team is but is providing something

Nah. They can beat the Astros or whomever comes out of the wildcard.

I kind of think the Astros are this year's version of the royals.

So if it's under 90mph Olt can hit

Remember back in 2005, we had a 12-16 record in August and in mid-September we had a 4-10 stretch?

The Royals aren't playing their best right now but their best is as good as anyone when the find it. Don't judge teams by what they're doing at their best or at their worst. 2 weeks later it can look very different.

Man Brantly can not hold up low and in

Agreed, but I'm not judging them so much on their play right now but just thinking about their starting pitching and how they match up. They're probably the most complete team all around, though.

teams slump

Royals clearly miss the veteran presence of Rios

Nice to see Johnson get his mojo back.

It's baseball. The Royals could get swept out of the first round or they could win it all and neither result would surprise me in the least.

Eaton could hit 25 homers if he hit cleanup.

Based on?

Eaton's gonna finish 2nd on team in homers

Not exactly a bad thing. Would be nice to get another guy for lead off and let Eaton bat 2nd/3rd

He has 12 as a leadoff guy. His job is to get on base, not hit homers, but he does anyway.

There's no doubt in my mind that he'd be a 25+ homer guy if he tried to hit them out every at bat.
