November 6, 201510 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 10:23 AM) They have three - Saladino, Sanchez and Leury. With Leury being far and away the weakest of the bunch in overall value. His hitting is atrocious on a special level, and frankly his defense isn't that great either. He's got more speed than either of the others, but has no other advantages. No reason to keep him. Saladino and Sanchez are starters.
November 6, 201510 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) Saladino and Sanchez are starters. Sanchez probably is, Saladino probably isn't.
November 6, 201510 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) Sanchez probably is, Saladino probably isn't. Maybe not, but just as soon let him play SS as these less than exemplary FAs.
November 6, 201510 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) Saladino and Sanchez are starters. Not unless their offense improves, a lot. They had OPS+ of 68 and 66 respectively. Even Alexei was at 79.
November 6, 201510 yr Every time I see Michael Ynoa's name, I have to laugh, remembering that Rick Hahn said right after the Shark trade that he held out for Ynoa to be included, implying that he would not have made the trade without him.
November 6, 201510 yr Author QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) Sanchez probably is, Saladino probably isn't. Maybe marginally both, but really the team won't be starting both. Maybe not either. Micah is still very much in the mix at 2nd too. Leury's are a dime a dozen. If there's space for him, fine. If they need it, he should be first to go. No reason to keep your third best utility infielder protected if it means leaving an actual prospect exposed, or losing a chance at a more valuable player.
November 7, 201510 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Leury's are a dime a dozen. If there's space for him, fine. If they need it, he should be first to go. No reason to keep your third best utility infielder protected if it means leaving an actual prospect exposed, or losing a chance at a more valuable player. One would think so. But the Sox spent $8 million on 2 Leurys last year. And Phillips' aren't exactly in short supply. It's hard to believe that Robinson Leyer is up for Rule 5....he was in A ball in 2014. Must have been a really slow mover up the ladder. Sox moved him up fast last year, and to the pen if I recall, probably in anticipation of Rule 5- seeing of they could do anything with him. Even given the Sox org's enduring love for medocre veterans, I'd still think the Sox would protect a young hard thrower over Phillips. Edited November 7, 201510 yr by GreenSox

November 20, 201510 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) Mariners DFA former #2 overall pick Danny Hultzen. His shoulder is toast
November 20, 201510 yr White Sox add RHPs Brandon Brennan and J.B. Wendelken to 40-man roster, which is now at 36. https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/667792130694389762
November 20, 201510 yr Author Wendelken I get. Surprised they didn't protect Tago. And Brennan has about half a season's innings in A+, seems like a wasted add to me. No one is picking him.
November 20, 201510 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Wendelken I get. Surprised they didn't protect Tago. And Brennan has about half a season's innings in A+, seems like a wasted add to me. No one is picking him. They can still protect him. Might not be just them 2 at this moment. Sox haven't officially announced anything yet.

November 20, 201510 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) A's just DFA'd AJ Griffin Is he having trouble returning from injury? Might be worth a claim.
November 20, 201510 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) I don't get the point of Brennan unless they know something we dont. Is there a chance that he'll be moved quickly now that he's probably headed to the bullpen?

November 21, 201510 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 06:01 PM) Wilin Rosario and Rex Brothers DFA in Colorado as well. We should be all over both these. Well Rosario if hes still a capable catcher. Not sure if he is or not.
