But the White Sox should totally trade Chris Sale.

Not yet, but eventually. Can't get fair value, yet.

price 31 mil per for 7 yrs..... sweet for him.

there is no way the sox would be able to do that and i wouldn't want them to. his contract is at an end when he is 38 yo.

Ha ha, the values of Sale and Q just went up.

I guessed Price would end up with the Dodgers but Boston isn't too surprising given their history of signing big free agents and their need for a #1.

Up next next, Cueto to the cubs? J/K

you just got me thinking on the rtn that Q or Sale trade could get the sox.... the price of their contracts, who wouldn't trade a hunk of their farm for them.

Honestly though the amount of surprised people on Twitter over this deal is hilarious. Especially by Cubs fans.

They've been conditioned to think that everyone thinks like they do and that the Cubs are the bestest everzzzz!!! Money talks, Price wasn't coming to the Cubs for a discount to play for Madden or for the "glory" of helping the Cubs win.

I thought I read on Rotoworld he has an opt out after 3 years. I think it is his and not the club opt out. Yea, I agree 38 is a bit too old for that contract

Cubs tears are so sweet. I know their fans are s***ting themselves. No Price, Grienke or Zimmerman. Could work out well for them though.

really, i trust in what you are saying, but it doesn't make sense. 33-34 and an out opt. if he wants it. no team is going to pony up for a 34 and for what, 40 mil??

very confusing, unless it is a buyout option, still.

The most interesting thing to come out of this was the Cardinals were the runners up.

It's stun with a little bit of "we didnt want him anyway"

That's the part I think some of them were counting on....or atleast that they would make more of an effort for Price

In other news. With Greinke signing soon with the Dodgers or Giants....the bidding war for Shark will start.

David Price will earn $90 million the 1st three years of his contract_$30 million a year_when he then has an opt-out in his contract.#RedSox

You are correct, sir

That price tag is absurdly ridiculous!

Red Sox overpaid, but the Greinke deal will be more of an overpay. Guy is going to regress hard next year.

but now the market is set, the dodgers have the money, i can see the dodgers doing it.

And when that time comes the Sawks will be crossing their fingers he takes that opt out, for sure.

Like others have said, this deal makes Sale & Quintana's trade value sky rocket.

They are not trading either of them.

Not anytime soon anyway.

I think the question is, who would trade the farm? It was hard to imagine their values before but now, sheesh! I don't see any team giving up true value for Sale or Q.

I give Hahn tons of credit for getting those two locked up long term. Imo, today's market dictates the Sox cannot afford to trade Sale or Q no matter how bad the offense is.

The only way I could see a guy like Sale or Q being traded is if it was a 3 team deal.

Let's be real here. No matter how good and cheap they both are, no team is going to empty their farm for either one of them.
