Tiley is overseeing the Australian Open right now. The constant delays make sense that he'd be the hire.

Eh disagree, we were all told from the beginning that the AD would be hired at the end of January/beginning of February.

We were told Jan 21st originally. Obviously didn't happen.

I hope that's true. I really like Tiley as a candidate.

Hickory's favorite head coach signs a 6-year extension to stay in South Bend

Why won't he be like Chip and go to the NFL???

Awesome move for ND.

The reason he got six years instead of seven is that he went for two when it was completely unnecessary.

Good to see ND settling for mediocrity.

Jerry Kill and the #Gophers are parting ways; agreement on new role isn't reached: http://strib.mn/1VEJwZo

some real high class head coaches:

Charlie Strong having an affair with a Louisville booster's wife

Butch Jones telling player he betrayed the team by helping alleged sexual assault victim

Not just a booster, but a member of the board of trustees, but then this is the same school that currently employs Bobby Petrino and Rick Pitino, so is anybody surprised?

Jones is going to get fired over this if there is any way they can confirm this. Coaches get fired for much much less.

Illinois finally figuring out scheduling for a rebuilding program, won't play a non-con P5 team between 2017-2020 seasons.

Texas big money guys are looking for a reason to fire Charlie Strong. Should be interesting if anything comes of this.

Illinois fires it's coach at almost the worst possible time.

With the timing of this I would assume Whitman has someone lined up but we are also Illinois so assuming competence may be foolish on my part.

Hot name that's been coming out is Leslie Frazier.

Players found out on Twitter.

Hate the timing.

Despise that they didn't tell the players first.

Still think it was the overall right move.

Million dollar buyout for Bill Cubit and $360,000 for Ryan Cubit to not coach for Illinois this year after getting jobs they never should have had in the first place. I don't feel bad for those two at all. Sucks a bit for the players but they will get over it, players almost always do.

Months ago, yes. Right when spring football starts, really?

When is the last time Illinois did something at the right time or the right way? Nice to see the new AD not messing around though, he inherited quite the mess.

Word is that the leak got out rather quick and the plan was to tell the players first. Social Media now a days....
