The Royals broadcast is high on something. They actually said the Royals are defending themselves from being bullied by teams like the White Sox and A's.

I heard that as well and couldn't believe it. I mean even in the first series this year they plunked Lawrie the first time he came to bat. Their whole deal is intimidation of the White Sox w/ Hosmer et all screaming at our guys. We lay over and die vs. KC with 3 more L's coming this weekend.

Tigers begin a 3-city trip to New York, Chicago and Kansas City tonight.

Indians continue their 3-city trip in Anaheim, then KC. They just got done splitting 4 games with Seattle.

Time for the Sox to get hot.

Royals and White Sox play the Tigers and Indians this week.

Might be separation week for the Tigers. Indians are taking care of business this season, even with their injuries and suspensions.

The Royals' last 19 games go like this: WWWWWWLLLLLLLLWWWWW. Do not ride this attraction if you are pregnant or have a seizure disorder.

You don't see pitchers tearing their labrums much anymore. They must of come up with an exercise to strengthen the area and prevent it from happening.

Eibner back up from rehab assignment, Fuentes back down despite hitting .317. Alex Gordon could be starting his rehab assignment as soon as this weekend. David Wright (yes, I know the Mets) had possibly career-ending neck surgery in NYC as well.

JD Martinez, non-displaced radial (forearm) fracture tonight...just below the elbow.

You can bet they'll be in the Bruce/Braun/Myers sweepstakes if he has to miss longer than 4-6 weeks.

Tigers with five homers already in a very balmy KC.

6-4 Tigers going to the bottom of the 7th. Rare blown save by Hochevar. V.Martinez (2), Castellanos, McCann and Miggy Cabrera.

Lucky we mostly avoided Sox-killer Victor!

Victor hit three.

Steven Moya was recalled, he's expected to get the majority of JD Martinez's bats for the next 4-6 weeks.

Tigers had to use Andrew Romine tonight in KC, and he actually pitched much better than Hardy and Lowe, whose ERA ballooned up to 10.91.

Boyd will be out of the rotation and back to AAA, so that leaves three options:

Go back to Anibal Sanchez, Joe Jimenez (AAA) and Daniel Norris.

Tigers are going to struggle to stay in the race with only three legit starters (no matter how well Verlander and Fulmer have been going) because of that bullpen and the loss of JD Martinez in the OF.

Royals beat Tigers 3 out of 4. Maybe Ventura and Ausmus go on the same day.

Cle 38-30 --

KC 38-31 0.5

Det 34-35 4.5

Sox 33-36 5.5

This Week:

Indians- 3 vs TB, 3 at Det

Royals- 2 at NYM, 3 vs Hou

Tigers- 4 vs Sea, 3 vs Cle

White Sox- 4 at Bos, 3 vs Tor

Check out how many runs the Tigers' bullpen has given up in the last week or so coming in to today's game.

Ausmus is stuck with Lowe's 10.91 ERA because of that contract Avila signed him to. He's worse than Carroll.

They (the bullpen) have been atrocious, similar to the Sox in Texas or against the Royals.

Plus, they're playing without JD Martinez now as well (Moya actually had 3 hits today, so that's not why they lost.)

I do agree, though, that the Tigers are less likely to be patient with their "win now" team than the White Sox with Ventura. Just...because.

Brantley update:

After continued discomfort, he was re-examined, received a cortisone shot and is dealing with R biceps tendon tendinitis.

The Pirates and Clint Hurdle were the ones who really fixed Volquez...that said, pretty shocking start for him, especially at home.

The Astros are simply on a tear right now.

Indians 13 over .500. Killing division teams this year.

It's almost an exact "Interstellar" ending moment...

May 6th, White Sox 23-10 and up 6-7-8 games on the Indians, Royals and Tigers.

Here we are, six weeks later, everything's inverted (maybe upside down Inception influence, too)....Cleveland up 5-6-7 on the Royals, Tigers and White Sox.

13 games lost in the standings. Almost the exact same as the 2005 White Sox in August/Sept 2005, except those White Sox were still above .500 and the Indians were just on an ungodly tear of almost .800 baseball.

Royals have to trade for another 4th starter or they're toast. Chris Young is simply killing them. Volquez was rocked the night before.

Tigers also can't afford to stand pat while waiting for JD Martinez to return.

don't be surprised if a labrum issue pops up.

This is what's funny ... the Royals were this bad, this horses*** TWICE prior to the Sox fixing them. They came to Chicago having lost 9 in a row and promtly won 2 of 3 and shoulda won them all. They also were sucking big time earlier when they won all 3 in Chicago and two of 3 in KC shortly after to right the sinking ship. KC is in trouble cause right now they aren't playing any Central teams and figure to stay in the tank for the next couple weeks. They might catch a break if St. Louis really does suck but KC right now is horrific again and doesn't have the Sox to beat up on til August.

Indians on pace for 96 wins.

24-10 in the division, and have 42 left against the Central, including 13 vs the Twins.

Indians also already have 8 sweeps of 3-4 game series (not including winning 3 in a row against the Sox when they were 3 1/2 GB).

Have beaten the Tigers all 9 times they've played this year.

No offense to Robin, but I consider Francona and Maddon special managers who can make a difference. Look at the Indians and the Cubs. I also considered Leyland special and remember how Detroit dominated under him.

Now Yost and Ventura are the buffoons in the division so to speak. Minnie just has no talent at all.

You have to admit it'd be neat to at least try with a genius of a manager and see if that would change things for the Sox. I loved Ozzie but even he was unproven.

How bout our next manager be a proven genius! How bout the Yankee manager. He should be about ready to move on. He's been there too long in this day and age of what have you done for me lately?

Indians finally lose!

Yep, it was by the tightest of margins...a couple of inches on that tag play at home on the bloop misjudged by Tyler Naquin that almost turned into an incredible throw out at home to preserve the tie. Then Tommy Hunter imploded after the call was reversed.

Indians had the 6-5 lead and turned it over to Otero and he actually gave up a homer after having pitched so well in set-up during this stretch of games.

They almost were able to cover up for Bauer by throwing a minor league call-up out there for 3 2/3 IP in the middle of the game (started McAllister and then another reliever for 2 innings).

Really has felt like a playoff series/playoff preview so far.
