5/9 - White Sox @ Rangers Game Thread

AJax needs to hit to RF more. I've only seen good things from him when he waits on the breaking pitch.

They're gona start pitching Avi different on the first pitch soon I'd guess because he's crushing everything. Keep an eye on that

Maybe that's his new approach...see first ball hit first ball hard.

Sox are better off asking the Rays about Odorizzi or even the Padres about Pomeranz (risky risky, NL + PETCO) than going after Gray. Too many red flags.

Dammit Eaton

Only 1 run so far but we're at least hitting this guy for once. DP there daggummit

Way to not run that out hard Adam.

2-0 count and a DP ughh

Perfect pitch to hit....team struggling with RISP

Gray reminds me a lot of Rich Harden. Look how that turned out.

Oh man Eaton.. This offense is frustrating a lot of the time

He's always swung at the first pitch though. To start the year it was all low off speed and he wasn't close. He's gotten some fastballs and has been crushing them although his double tonight was a breaking ball I think.

Doesn't mean that's how he'll turn out to be.

That's the thing - the metrics say Avi's production isn't fluky. His swing is different, he takes more pitchers, his batted ball profile is different and the results are obviously, different. He can always fall back into his ways but this is starting to get interesting.

The thing is he started to get hot, then had the minor injury and has come back hot still. That's a very good sign considering that could've been a built in excuse. "Well he was starting to hit then got hurt and is now slumping."

Nice jinx by Stone regarding the command

Why pitch around Mitch Moreland when you've been retiring everyone in sight?

Here we go... Big spot for Miggy.

So the Cubs aren't trading the next Josh Donaldson for him?

I really see a team like the Dodgers giving up a bunch to get him or maybe they'll go all out for Fernandez.

coming in his BABIB was .298. Everything in his profile is different and better, including his OZone% is at a career low. He's also swinging at less in the zone, so overall he's choosing to seeing more pitches.

Astros up 5 on the Indians and the Nationals have the bases loaded no outs down 1 against the Tigers. Yankees up 5-1 on the Royals

can't locate his fastball now
