Why is Duke not being used when Santana and Kipnis come up?

 

It is strange. Bottom of the order, you had Putnam up and warm and then you bring in Duke for an entire inning?

I guess they can use Jennings there (Santana/Kipnis), hard to understand Ventura sometimes.

 

Probably leaves Duke in now for the next two. Usually he doesn't face five hitters, but okay.

You would think you would want your best LHP in facing their best left handed hitter and a switch hitter who is much worse against LHP. But I am not a manager so what do I know
