Hostetler was really raving about the catcher they took in the 8th round...how (Burch/Birch) the area scout had him as high on the board as 2nd round talent.

 

Seems to be a defense-first guy who could complement Collins well.

10th round pick Remilard just hit a bomb against LSU, his 19th of the year.

It will be interesting to see how many guys they draft make the major leagues. Over the last 10 years they have had 3 or 4 drafts where they had 9 picks from a draft make it, pretty surprising, but most performed at about replacement level.

I really liked the draft. No complaints at all. Hope its the start of something new. Drafting guys with plate discipline. Imagine that!
