Per NHL source, #JimmyVesey zeroed in on #Blackhawks & #Devils. That may change, but that's the latest on #VeseyWatch @ESPNNH #StretchRun

So basically no new news whatsoever.

Vermette to Ducks. 2 yrs, 1.75 mil.

Vrbata to Yotes. 1 yr, 1 mil. (3rd stint there)

Free-agent winger Jimmy Vesey apparently told the #RedWings he wants to play closer to home. Not great news for the #Blackhawks

Jimmy Vesey & his agents scheduled to meet with Chicago, Rangers, Bruins today, per source.

Hopefully this kid doesn't think the Sabres or Devils are better options than the Hawks because of location.

Source: #Blackhawks are "just waiting" like everyone else for Jimmy Vesey to make his decision.

Look like the Vesey watch will be over in the next 48 hours. Time to find out if Steve's "sources" were right this time... ;)

Let's hope that Harvard education paid off and he realizes the Blackhawks give him the best chance to win a cup ring and cash out on his next payday.

Nothing final yet, but hearing it's #NYR or #CHI for Jimmy Vesey. Tavares made a strong pitch for #Isles but they fell short, it appears.

Kevin Hayes was recruiting him.. the same Kevin Hayes who left the Hawks to go to the Rangers and the Hawks won the cup and lifted the banner the next season against him. ;)

At this point, it's almost a guarantee Vesey is a bust, right? The hype machine is spinning out of control

Again, all depends on expectation.

Vessey is valuable because of the contract he will sign, not so much about talent. Which is why the Hawks are doing everything in their power to sign him. That contract gives the Hawks a huge boost.

Absolutely. I just hope everyone keeps that in mind with their expectations for him. There's been very similar players who have gone this route and crashed and burned.

If he winds up signing with the Hawks it sure shows how much he liked being courted more than actually having trouble deciding, doesnt it?

He picked the Rangers. Oh well.

BOOOOOOO

Oh Steven this is 2010 all over again.. :P

Let's hope the Hawks win the cup again.

I really am not too hot on the Hawks this year. Vesey would've helped a lot, but I mean, outside of Toews/Kane/Panarin/Anisimov/Kruger/Hossa, you have 6 guys in Panik, Motte, Schmaltz, Desjardins, Hartman, and your other center (Tootoo or Rasmussen) who are either not going to produce much or are unknowns.

Vesey is just as much of an unknown as Motte and Schmaltz.

Barring a major injury, the Hawks are gonna make the playoffs. Question is will they find any more players to produce before then to make them a real contender. And will they avoid a super tough first round matchup unlike last year.

So outside of top end players we have role players.. Like every other contender

Vesey in his conference call said Hayes had a huge impact on his decision.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. f*** Kevin Hayes.

So the dude turned down Tavares and Kane to go play with Kevin Hayes. Uh, ok.

Crosby as well. Harvard may be overrated apparently.
