To add to your post Torborg at least got his feet wet in the major leagues as a manager with a bad Indians team. At least he came into the Sox job with an understanding of things and how to do it at the big league level.

 

Robin had zero experience, never coached or managed a day in his life before he took the Sox on the field opening day, 2012.

Torborg was .439 coming in and was given a prey good roster. His White Sox winning percentage is only .006 better than Terry Bevington's. And the experience card is beyond overplayed. Maybe in year 1, but they won 85 games. What Brooks Boyer should do is arrange an interview for Lip with JR, KW, RH and RV. He will never slam them again.

I hope you get the opportunity to interview them someday. I enjoy your interviews, so I'm sure we'd learn quite a bit from the brain trust running things over there at 35th and Shields. Certainly plenty of questions to ask, for which the answers would be very interesting to hear, to say the least.

He will have a job the rest of this season also. In fact, they will keep him around and continue to add and not subtract to this roster. Apparently being 4+ games out of a wildcard spot and getting their butts kicked by two of the worst teams in baseball isn't enough for them to waive the white flag. I'm convinced Rick Hahn and KW are delusional. Keep retooling this roster, dudes-- it will solve all of the problems!

There were actually some reports / rumors that Hahn did want to sell at the deadline last year but was over ruled. Again I don't know if that's true or not.

Well, this is the final year of his contract so he wouldnt have to be fired
