Why hasn't Ventura taken Gonzalez out of the game? Does he really think that the team can rally to win the day from this far behind?

The bullpen is severely taxed. Use a relief pitcher early and it can affect you fir a long time down the road

Robin wants give away more runs to the Jays so the Sox offense can keep fighting back. Makes it more interesting for the fans. Keeps the games going longer. Sells more concessions.

Yes and Thiggy and the guys out there were taking a nap in the shade. They didn't want to wake them

So you think that this game is unwinnable?

Really?

Another Saturday home game stinker.

I maintain that it helps when you throw strikes

problem is, as we've found "a strike" varies. Having a good framing catcher helps, alot.

No I don't think it is unwinnable. But, I understand we aren't using pitching machines out there and we have lots of games left to play

re: Lawrie's first HR

A ball that hits the yellow part of the fence is not an automatic HR? I thought it was

Granted but when you throw strikes you are more apt to get close pitches

In this ballpark the yellow line is just there to provide a color contrast so that umps can see if a ball flies over the fence or not. The ball must actually clear the fence in this ballpark. Other places with the "Big vertical walls" use the yellow line differently and will have above it be out of the park.

Ah, got it. Thanks

Let's hope Beck can hold them

Can't be coming in and walking guys on 4 pitches

2-0 on Saunders when the first 2 pitches were in the zone.

edit- unless GameDay screwed up again

So much mediocrity on this roster right now. Just a lack of talent in the organization has been illustrated in how bad the replacements have been.

Looked safe

Gotta get at least 1 run here and cut into the lead.

Was a joke man. Tongue in cheek

I like the look of beck. He needs to keep refining his command. But he has very good tools to be a Relief pitcher. Then once he has establishes himself he will get those close calls that are going the other way right now for him.

But he has a very good fastball and good secondary pitches.

I like him and Ynoa as future guys here. Add in Purdi when he gets here and that is 3 young looking kids that could be very good in the pen.

Short and sweet by Lawrie
