Actually great job by Robin today being creative with the lineup considering this awful bench and starting 2 of his catchers. Result was both hit home runs.

Dan Jennings, the guy you wanted replaced with Brian Duensing, has a 1.45 ERA his last 56 innings.

 

 

I kind of think having Jeff Banister, Ian Desmond and Duensing would trump your Ubaldo Jimenez, Jennings, Gordon Beckham, future HoF Robin Ventura and John Danks.

Sox tied the club record today with seven home runs in a game. Set originally in April 1955 in the Sox 29-6 destruction of the Kansas City A's.

On the bright side Beck looked good. It is laughable some here are blaming Ventura. People were calling for Ynoa yesterday. He was the only reliever to allow runs today.

 

Coop has done a hell of a job with his rotation.

If Ynoa keeps pitching like that I'm gonna scream, "Oh No" when he gets the call.

Just got home from work and looked at the highlights. Crazy game. Sad seeing Abreu , Frazier and Melky go a combined 1 for 14 when the rest of the team went ballistic. Melky was on fire the previous 2 games so I'll excuse him. The off day didn't seem to help Abreu but he's probably still sore from HBP's.

You're not going to be able to compete with a 5th starter with a 5.17 ERA, Shields as your 4th and quicksand in front of Duke/Jones/Robertson.

 

Not unless you immediately replace Garcia and Shuck with 800+ OPS hitters.

April 23, 1955 - The White Sox hammered the Athletics 29-6 at Kansas City. The 29 runs was an American League record for years. The Sox hit seven home runs that night. Walt Dropo and Bob Nieman each had seven RBI’s. Sherm Lollar and “Minnie” Minoso added five each.

Couldn't agree more. I find it hard to believe Robertson wouldn't have been on the mound if the Sox were up 8-7 in the 9th.
