  1. They need to find an assistant from a progressive organization like Tampa or Cleveland and give them the keys to rebuild the whole foundation of the White Sox.
  2. I still root for my teams - the White Sox, Bears and Blackhawks. My problem is - more often than not my teams seem to be in teardown rebuilds and in a state where I kind of need to root for them to lose for draft positioning. Like the Blackhawks chasing Connor Bedard this past season. Or the Bears getting the #1 pick. And the Sox had their rebuild a few years ago. The ownerships and management of Chicago professinal sports team has been really bad in recent years.
  3. Solid start to the season. Let's keep it going!
  4. I'm hopeful as well. Even getting just a few of these guys to stay healthy and come close to their potential could vault this team to first place.
  5. I like this move. Insurance for TA's inevitable 1-2 months on the DL. And it makes it more likely that someone among Romy, Sosa and Elvis can do well at 2B.
  6. Hmm, that doesn't make sense at a glance. I'd have to read your article. Forbes estimates Reinsdorf owns 19% of the White Sox, and also estimates the White Sox are worth 1.4 billion. That puts Jerry's estimated share value at $266 mil. That said, I'm sure the Sox would sell for a lot more than 1.4 bil. I'd guess 2.5 - 3 billion at least.
  7. It is if the rest of the guys start hitting home runs unlike last year.
  8. Right and for hockey fans, we saw the false accusations that Patrick Kane had to deal with. We need to let this process play itself out.
  9. I think our big hope is the hitting coach changes produce some results in all these underachievers on the team. We'll see. I could see anywhere from high 70's in wins to over 100 if everything clicks.
  10. Try reading that again, Jerry. Those aren't comments from Benetti.
  11. \ Very good read there. Thanks for posting this.
  12. Nothing they can do about it? They could have not built the new stadium across the street in the late 80's/early 90's? Although the stadium has convenient highway access - it is still viewed as an undesirable area to go to. Who wants to ride that section of the redline at night? And crap like those guys on electric scooters scamming people for money as they exit the Dan Ryan for a game only furthers the problem. IMO the Sox need to move once new ownership eventually comes in. If nothing is available downtown, then the burbs should be the focus.
  13. He definitely isn't coming off as a team first player. Disappointing. Maybe they need to clean out some of these me-first attitudes from the clubhouse.
  14. I cant think of of a team that needed new leadership more than the Sox. I don't care who it is. Bring Drake back.
  15. I'm sorry, but this take is ridiculous. If all those things happened, the Sox would win 115 games. They don't need to win 115 games to make the playoffs. With everything going sideways last year, they lost the division by 11 games. If just a couple of those players blow up this year, the potential to sail past Cleveland is easily there. I'm not saying it's likely or that they are the favorites. But to act like they only have a snowball's chance in hell is just off.
  16. I'll take 5 Alex Fernandez's and spend the leftover $5 on a right fielder.
  17. Yikes. Best of wishes to him for a speedy and full recovery.
  18. Not sure what the point is here. If anyone believes Jerry lost $21 mil last year, then I have some breachfront property in New Mexico to sell you. And the Sox will sell for way more than 1.76 bil if it attracts open bidders.
  19. Nobody thinks this will get him to sell. But that doesn't mean a little embarrassment wont be fun to snicker about. Hopefully this gets a little snippet on national tv.
  20. Waste of what, $5 or $10? Hell a big mac costs more than most people donated. I think this is great.
  21. So Jerry...when are you going to spend that money that was hoarded during the lean rebuild years? We were promised.
  22. I 100% agree. I'm hoping Sosa takes the job and runs with it.
  23. Moving out of the Chicago area is the only thing that would make me stop being a Sox fan. And if they did move, it would only be a matter of time until a different team relocated to be Chicago's 2nd team. Just because Jerry has failed to capitalize on the pot of gold that is Chicago's sports market, doesn't mean other owners or potential owners wont see the opportunity clear as day.
  24. It's official. We're fans of the most dysfunctional organization in professional sports in North America.
