  1. Considering they won't spend on considerable upgrades, yes. When they are ready to win, they'll just pepper in the over-the-hill 30+ year old free agents that they are know to sign to complete the roster.
  2. I would actually go to a weeknight game if it started at that time. I avoid those games like the plague now after a few long games.
  3. I wish our home games started at 6:10 honestly.

    2019 Catch-All

Yeah I hear ya. The pain is so bad (had our first game yesterday) to the point where I kinda want to back out for the season. But joining a new team and dragging a few of my friends into it is kinda making me feel like I need to stay.
  5. Yeah it's amazing how much PT he has gotten over the last couple of years. Guy just looks so uncomfortable at the plate.

What was causing the pain? I've had pain in my foot the past couple of years and all that was recommended are orthotics. I play baseball in the summer and I'm realing the orthotics are not very helpful when it comes to running.
  7. It seems like whenever a position player pitches, they get the 3 outs without giving up runs more often than not.
  8. You can be effective without firing the ball as hard as you can.
  9. Agreed. I never really expected him to be here very long if he stayed healthy and pitched great, anyway.
  10. Yeah, eventually he will turn it around. I'm torn on if I want him to hit like this every year of his contract or not: It would be nice to not be paying for that type of production. But on the other hand, I don't want Jerry and co let off the hook. Jerry can point at this as a reason to never give out money to star players (not that he needs anymore reasons since he already doesn't anyway).
  11. Right. I'm pretty sure people on here said "we have too many pitching prospects" at one point. There is no such thing.
  12. Agreed. I'm just referring to people saying that you can't really judge a player until he's been a full season removed from surgery. We need him to be good in 21. We can't wait for him to be fully past the surgery and mediocre since there is no additional control after that season. And there should be no thought in anyone's head that we should sign him to an extension. Dude has not proven he can stay healthy.
  13. 2 more years of control after this year. So if he has the surgery soon, he comes back second half of next year at the earliest. So then we will have him for a year where we are hoping he can fully adjust to pitching after the surgery. Plenty of people on here give players mulligans their first full year back after a big surgery. That year will be his last year of control.
  14. It was more of a "he's out there now, no one else is guaranteed to be there next off-season (I'll bet on Cole extending with Houston or signing with the Yankees in the off-season)" kind of an idea. Not about this season. But yeah, he'll probably sign with a team trying to win this year.
  15. Seemed like such a great pick at the time, but no one can disagree that he is overall, a bust.
  16. Assuming hes waiting for after the draft, anyone open to a Keuchel signing? This team (going forward) needs someone who can pitch consistently.
  17. Hes in arbitration now. This is his 5th year in the league. Second year. And idk they probably will tender him a deal.
  18. It's ok. We have the innings eater on the mound next game 😏
  19. There's always money in the banana stand.
  20. It's a world I want to live in.
