Bat him in the middle of the order against lefties, bat him down lower against most righties, sit him against the guys that are at the top of the position.
The weird thing is, no one is even pining for Yermin to get the at bats he is getting. Everyone else knows he shouldn't be playing against righties for the time being and moved out of the middle of the order. His role should be reduced.
So when Hamilton comes back, is Vaughn being optioned the likely move? Assuming they want to have as much depth as possible so they don't DFA anyone and to give him every day at bats. Same idea as when people were saying Mendick would get optioned.
Could teams get away with putting guys like this on the Covid-IL (don't have to be out for 10 days and can come back whenever) if they knew a guy needed a couple days off?
Hey, if they want to throw him in RF to see if he can stick out there in a platoon with Engel, I wouldn't be mad. But I do agree that it is weird he is not playing his natural position.
I don't think he will be either but I think when he comes back he will be for the rest of 2021. I agree though that he will not be a full-time DH after this year.
Has to be. Under control for 2022 too. Can either move him to RF for 2022 or dangle him in a trade yourself in the offseason if you decide to go for power (which the team SHOULD have plenty of with everyone healthy).
