  1. Eloy said earlier that he 's going to hit 40 home runs this year. If he plays 150 games and hits 40 home runs its going to be a great year for the team.
  2. I'm just wondering. If the stadium was built and nothing else, what would it cost for just a new stadium?. I'm assuming the billion dollars being asked for is for the total project. I haven't read what the cost of the new stadium would be.
  3. 10% seems a bit low. Cities wouldn't be building these stadiums if they weren't making money. Portland has major plans on the table which would build a new baseball stadium and other buildings around it.
  4. JR ruined the present stadium with the upper deck that everybody has hated from the beginning. I hope he stays out of the stadium design business with the new stadium.
  5. One of the reasons why I'm a season ticket holder is because of the parking at the present stadium. I buy a season ticket parking package and it comes out to $18.00 a game for parking. Getting in and out of the parking lot is very easy. It has to be one of the best parking situations in MLB. I would assume and hope that parking lots will be built at the new stadium.
  6. You've mentioned recently that you expect a good year from Benedenti. If he bounces back with good years from Moncada, Eloy and Kopech this team could be good. The bullpen scares me but lets see how that plays out.
  7. Eloy, Kopech and Moncada are all going to have real good 2024 seasons. This should help lead the team into playoff contention.
  8. Keep Cease and have him lead the team into the 2024 playoffs.
  9. I hope you're right about them not moving. Keep in mind they almost moved to Florida. Governor Thompson saved the White Sox for Chicago. If it wasn't for Thompson they would have moved.
  10. They won't move to Nashville but what about moving to Portland? Portland recently came out with plans to build a MLB stadium with all the buildings around the stadium. If that actually happens Portland will get a team one way or another.
  11. I get the impression that the new stadium will be built in the South Loop. Nobody seems to be talking about this but what happens if the new stadium is not built? Will the White Sox stay at the present stadium? Or will JR try to move the team out of state?
  12. Its going to be a great year on the Southside of Chicago!!!! I'm looking forward to Opening Day.
  13. Is it possible to build a parking garage west of Wells street?
  14. From what I can see the present hotel/motel tax will be extended for the new stadium.
  15. 1) I'm under the impression that the new stadium will be built. I'm hoping that JR stays out of the stadium design business this time. Jr was the one who ruined the present stadium with the miserable upper deck. 2) I've always wondered why this land was never developed. Its been sitting there empty forever. Hopefully the time has come to do something with it.
  16. When the A's announced they were moving to Vegas they said they would pay millions towards the new stadium. If that has changed I don't know.
  17. The owners of the Rays and Vegas A's are paying millions of dollars towards their new stadiums. I would think that JR would have to give some money towards the new stadium for this proposal to get done.
  18. You should of applied for the job. Who knows, you might have been hired. I wrote JR a letter a few years ago hoping to be interviewed for the GM job. He never responded to me. Matter of fact, he has not responded to any of my letters since then.
  19. I was told this weeks ago before the South Loop announcement.
  20. I'm told by somebody close to the situation that JR wants a new stadium. He does not want to continue at the present stadium when the lease runs out.
  21. The owners of the Rays are spending $600 million dollars on the new stadium in St. Pete. The owners of the Vegas A's are spending millions of dollars on the new stadium in Vegas. I'm assuming that they will be part owners of their stadiums. I would assume that JR will become part owner of the new stadium.
  22. The owners of the Tampa Bay rays are paying over $600 million dollars towards their new stadium. The owners of the Oakland/Las Vegas A's are paying millions of dollars towards their new park in Vegas. I would assume in both of those cases the team would own part of the stadium. I would think that same situation would occur with the new White Sox stadium. JR would have to give some money towards it and I'm sure he would want part ownership of the stadium. I'm hoping this new stadium gets built in the South Loop and I'm also hoping JR stays out of stadium design business. He was the one who changed the design of the present park. He wanted another level of suites which gave us that upper deck that everybody has hated. If he insists on another stadium with a upper deck that nobody wants to sit in he should get a kick in his rear end.
  23. If all they could get was a new stadium right at the present location I'm surprised that the owners of the Rays didn't move the team. I thought they would move to Orlando or Nashville.
  24. I was surprised when the Rays owners agreed to a new stadium right by the present one in St. Pete. They also agreed to pay $600 million dollars towards the new stadium. The Oakland/Las Vegas A's agreed to pay millions towards the new stadium in Vegas. I would guess that JR would pay for part of the new stadium. That would make most people happy and get the new stadium off the ground.
